Finally Friday - Dry Embossed Frame

copyright Two Peas in a Bucket
Good morning!
This week's Finally Friday video came about from a couple requests to show how to create a dry embossed frame (as seen on this pink card). There are some products from companies out there that will create embossed frames, but how do you create one on your own using product you already have on hand? Watch the video to find out! :)
Be sure to check out the full description and photo over at the Designer Garden. Also, the video below is in high quality, but if you prefer the normal version (easier on slower connections), head on over to YouTube.

Very nice tutorial, yet again. I've done similar with the cardstock but have run it through my Sizzix Big Shot for the same effect. I love that there are so many ways to achieve some of the same looks. Very pretty card. Thanks!
What a great technique this week, SO easy and looks great. I am going to give it a try tomorrow.
Happy New Year ;0)
Thanks for the great video! I do have one question, though. Woudn't it be easier to place the template on the top of the card, then run your stylus along the inside edge? That way you could see what you are doing instead of having to 'find' the edge. Just curious. I am off to try this!
gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS card! And look at the scruptious satin ribbon WOW! TFS Kristina it is gorgeous...oh did I already say that :)
Thanks for the tutorial. I never thought of making a card with a frame, but now that I saw yours I ca't wait to try it myself.
Beautiful work as always, you're such an inspiration! Happy New Year by the way! What ink do you recommend best for clear stamps? Stampin' Up ink pads don't seem to do the trick... the ink ends up kind of blotchy/spotty (is that a word?) Any suggestions would be much appreciated =)
Absolutely beautiful! can't wait to see the video!
a nice way to emboss. Thanks for sharing it!
Happy New Year Kristina! Thanks for a great video share. It is a beautiful creation.
Hi. Happy New Year. Thanks for the video - the card is so easy to make and the result is an attention-getter (in the politest way, of course :-)
Wow! The card was awesome. BTW you haven't changed the month on the top right hand corner of you blog.
I've always made my dry ebossed frames exactly the same way! I was sure there must be an easier way but am really happy to see an experienced person such as yourself using the same technique.
I like monochromatic designs--sometimes I think folks underestimate just how elegant they can be! This is is simply, quietly beautiful and serene!
Thank You for showing the way to make dry embossing. I have the equipment and some "ready" frames to use, but I haven't thought this way to get all kind of shapes:D
Thanks for the tutorial - I don't have any of those embossing-type frame products, so this will be fun to try out!
thank you for showing the dry emboss technique -- I made three cards -- you can see them at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1178952?cat=3741
enjoy your blog!
beautiful and simple!!
I love this technique! Thanks so much for sharing!
Happy New Year, Kristine! I just found your blog a couple months ago and just find you so inspirational - and I love your simple, elegant style. This tutorial is great and I like the idea from Christina Hill about using the Sizzix Big Shot. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us this year! TFS!
Sorry. I meant to say Kristina! I'm so embarrassed but that's what you get for your first post, a posting faux pas!
Great tutorial. Thanks.
Kristina,
You ROCK !!! Thanks SO much for answering my question and showing me how to dry emboss. :) What a gorgeous card.
Love your stuff !
WOW! You make it look so easy. It's a great classy and classic look that I cannot wait to try! Thanks for sharing your talent. v
