Finally Friday - Merry Christmas

120508-ff1.jpg I'm still on my Christmas card kick! Hopefully by making all these Christmas cards, I can actually send some out this year! :)

In this week's Finally Friday video I wanted to make a card that didn't have any extra layers--just the card base. Man, it's hard to do that sometimes! I had to do this card twice because the first time the ink I used for the background was too dark and you couldn't read the stuff stamped on top of it.

Head on over to TwoPeas to see the supplies used and more info.

Anyway, here ya go and I hope you enjoy the video. This is the first video I've made that's 16:9 (the size of letterbox and HD videos). YouTube just updated their video player last week and now it is HUGE when you watch over at their site. So, be sure to head over there to see it a bit larger and in high quality (click on watch in high quality below the video).

Jody:

I have a question about cracking cardstock. I'm making my cards from SU Kraft cardstock for the first time, and I've been having problems with cracking even though I'm scoring it first. Do you have any other tips on how to prevent this? I've never had this problem with any other cardstock, and I was wondering if it might have something to do with the fact that I'm using a 4 1/4 X 11 piece instead of my usual 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 - that maybe I'm going against the grain of the paper or something.

This is a beautiful design. You made me giggle too. I thought I was the only paper crafter slacker that doesn't get my cards out! :)

As usual, a stunning card! I definitely have to try out the faux stitching technique ... but I think I'll need a ruler to keep it a straight line!! :)

Hi Kristina,
I love the simplicity of this card and how you added the extra detail around the edges. When I saw the picture, my first thought was that you must be a stamp creator at SU! The small script set looks just like your handwriting for 'Christmas' on your card. So, can you share with us just what you do at SU? and is your handwriting used to make some of the script stamps?

Thanks for all you do on your blog!

Jackie
