MACM - Merry Christmas (Clear Card)

111008-macm.jpg

Morning all! Here's a really super quick MACM. :)

Before I head off for the day, I've received many emails from very confused readers about my last post. There are no new videos posted called "Vintage MACM." That's just a graphic--no videos will play if you click on them. I called them vintage because they're the old videos that I replaced. See this post to learn why.

--------------------------------------

UPDATE - Just answering a couple questions that were in the comments:

- I recommend using only StazOn ink on acetate. Regular ink (SU!'s craft pad) will wipe right off the slick surface.

- Any heat applied to the acetate will warp it. I tried to speed up the StazOn drying time when I was making this card and I saw the acetate start to buckle. You can tried embossing on it, but in my experience all you'd end up with is a ruined sheet of acetate. :)

Supplies - Acetate card (Hero Arts); Snowfall and Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp sets, Old Olive and Whisper White card stock, Old Olive ink, scallop edge punch (Stampin' Up!); White ink (StazOn); patterned paper (Bo Bunny); buttons (Basic Grey).

Hi Kristina,
Thank you for demonstrating this beautiful Christmas card using acetate; I love it. Would white craft ink be as effective as white stazon? I am not sure of the difference between the two. Love your work!

Great card. Thanks for the tips about stazon. Your makeup looks really pretty, brings out your eyes.

What a smart way to do a clear card! I would have tried (in vain) to have two separate interior opaque pieces match up when closed. As always, though I hardly ever comment, your cards are beautiful. I'm happy you have a job that matches your talents (a few of them) so well!

Um, great video! LOL I hadn't even noticed the "um's & uh's" but it was funny to see the bubble with the count.

Your so silly Kristina! If you didn't mention in your lil bubble pop up about the "um's & uh's" ....i would of not really notice. But after looking it over, uh? yeah it's noticeable, but who cares! That's what we like about you.

Love the card! Have to go buy me some of that white staz on. Or can I use any white stamp pad? ummm? dont know. Think I'll ask ya!.....

***QUESTION KRISTINA**!
1. Can I use Versa Mark and use the white emboss and heat? Will it cause some damage to the card?

2. Like Dale mentions in #1 comment. Can I use regular white ink pad that you buy at Craft stores??

Thanks for looking at my questions. Im sure there are viewers like me with these questions.

I REALLY love this card. I like the idea of wrapping the CS around the card it looks so much easier than trying to measure two pieces for both sides of the card to hide the adhesive. You ROCK!!!! Have a great week and TFS.

I'm headed to Las Vegas tomorrow, any chance you remember the name of the store you went to that had great ribbon? You bought green, brown and some other color. The green was stitched if that rings any bells. Thanks!

Kristina, I have just discovered the fun of clear cards and was so happy to see your creation today! My question: Is the Snow Fall stamp set from SU discontinued? Couldn't find it in the current catty.

Hi Kristina,
I am so happy to have found your blog and learn about your great cards. I do have a question about this card and I hope it's not "duh". Can this card open flat or only open as far as the red cardstock allows? Regardless, I agree with everyone that it's a wonderful card!

in case you want to try, Office Depot sells hybrid acetate good for regular or heat inks. I use in both my inkjet and laser printers so I know it will withstand some heat. a little more but certainly cheaper than the scrap stores.

Debra:

Hi Kristina ... I really loved this video. The card is beautiful done with the clear acrylic.. I did a class online through CHF where we used Stazon to make clear tags, and Stazon is really the best. It dries really fast! I did like the fact that you talked through the video to explain what you were doing.. I think we get more info that way! (Even tho your choices of music for your videos were always the best!) And I didn't notice your ums and uhs ... :))
