MACM - Jolly Christmas
Hmm... I'm not sure about this week's card. There's just something missing, ya know? Anyway, it was still fun to make. I don't watercolor very often so sometimes I forget how great it can be! :)
Also, I think this Santa stamp is from a retired Stampin' Up! set... Can any of you SU! fans out there tell me?
Before I get to the video, I just wanted to thank all of you who bought the Virtual Card Club PDF. You guys are awesome! And I'll definitely be able to cover my webhosting costs, with a bit extra. I want to thank you all, too, so I'll be giving away some prizes starting on the 1st of December. Think of it as an early Christmas gift. :) Be sure to check in starting next Monday. :)
So, here's the video. And I hope you enjoy it! Oh, and as usual, you can catch it in higher quality (just click on "watch in high quality" below the video).
Supplies - Watercolor paper, Naughty or Nice stamp set, watercolor crayons, AquaPainter, Real Red card stock, corner rounder punch (Stampin' Up!); patterned paper (American Crafts); Uniball Signo Gel Pen; Jolly Christmas stamp set (Hero Arts); chalk ink (Colorbox).

WHOA how can I possibly be the first to comment today! It is late already..anyway thanks Kristina for reminding me about the watercolor pencils, they need to be dusted off for a class! What a cute card! Have a great THANKSGIVING! Donna
I really like the simplicity of this card. It does seem like it's missing something on the right, but then if you added something, it would detract from the Santa hug! So...it's perfect just as it is!
Do you find it's easier to shade with the watercolor wonder crayons vs. the pencils? I'm on the fence about buying them.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
Sharon
Really cute card, Kristina. I've never colored directly onto my watercolor paper with the crayons, but I will definitely try it this way! ( I always pick up the color with my aquapainter directly from the bottm end of my crayon.) Thanks for the tip and another great card!--Lisa
uuuuhhhhhh.... i'm confused, love the card, but where on earth is the ribbon?? Danz x
Maybe you could add a small bow made out of ribbon at the top of the Santa panel? With a red checkered ribbon, maybe?
Yes, this is a SU! Santa, it was featured in last year's Holiday mini (2007). Cannot remember the exact name of the stamp set, though.
Cindy
I'm a big fan of yours.
Seriously.
I just love every single card that you make. It's amazing! You have a great eye for colour and coordination. All your layouts are brilliant!
I love making cards as well. But till I came across your blog, i didn't know there are many others who share my interest in card-making. It's like one big community of card-makers, i'm enthralled at the idea of it.
I'm hoping to start my own blog (soon) and of course, start taking pictures of my work. Can't wait to show you how inspired I am. Thanks to you!
xoxo

(oh btw, i think your Christmas card is great! I guess if you had stamped Ole Santa on a circular card, it would have been just nice. :) )
Can i just say that you are the reason i am so excited to turn on my computer, at work, in the morning? Well, i just did. Thanks for all the inspiration!!
Yes, this Santa is retired, he came from the Naughty or Nice set. He's still one of my favorites, I just used him this weekend!
Kristina-
If you think it is missing something maybe some glitter on the beard and white hat trimming would be nice, along with a tiny black ribbon sash around his waist. But it looks great as is!!!

Ilove it. You do such an awesome job on your blog. It's fun to see how many people have you listed in their favorite places to go.
I agree. Something is missing. When I first saw the card, I remembered an interview that you did when the interviewer asked if you always used ribbon. Your response was one of disbelief that she could possibly ask such a question. First thing I looked for was the ribbon.
Also wondered where the white cuff on the bottom of the Santa suit went. Oh, I am being too critical. Sorry. It is a beautiful card and I love it.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!
OH? this is cute! And yeah, I do agree in a way. Something is misssing...hmmm? Maybe some pretty red satin around the watercolor paper and possibly some little red & green buttons on the edge of the card or maybe some gemstones.
Overall it's still cute!
You have a blessed Thanksgiving weekend! As I say in Spanish....Feliz Dia De Gracias! or Feliz Dia del Pavo! (Happy Turkey Day)
Hugs!
Yaneri ;o)
Great card!!! As always!!! I have only recently discovered your blog and I am totally in love with your projects. For the past weeks I have read the entire archive.
P.S. You can add a fan from The Netherlands to your huge list of followers ;)!!!
Great Card! What?? No ribbon???
I really like this card. I think it is perfect without ribbon or embellishments. Have a great Thanksgiving!
I am such a big fan, thanks so much for always sharing! I always wonder how you pick your color combos. At a SU regional, I remember them saying to use the same color three times on a card, but you do not and your cards are always wonderful! How do you do it? Thanks!
we were just laying in bed talking and i suddenly realized it's monday!!! i kicked everyone out so i could watch it. i'm crackin up over the comment about where's the ribbon? that's too funny! cute card! and happy thanksgiving everyone!!! gobble gobble :O)
Love the card. Very simple and cute. I must say that I miss the old MACM though. They were so different from everyone else's card video's...with the music and no talking. I just thought it was clever. Don't get me wrong though...I still love your videos and site. I visit at least once a day. Keep up the awesome crafting!
I like the card, but I echo a couple of others...Where's the ribbon? It almost doesn't seem like it could be your card without ribbon, lol! I look forward to your MACM...you have such great ideas. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us.
I love this card! & now I know how I can use my watercolor pencils better!
ditto on # 17... missing the old videos...the no talking-- just cool music..just not the same anymore...
hey Kristina, I love the santa card and was especially tickled to see my snowflake stamp used in the background :) I am a faithful blog reader!
Love this card, but like others said, it's the ribbon missing !
xxx Gabi
No ribbon, but really CUTE card.
The stamp set is SU 2007 set called: Naughty or Nice set of 8) item # 110419 from the Mini Collection 2007 Holiday Edition. ... I just got it off ebay 2 weeks ago! cool!
Thanks for the wonderful card... Marilyn
I have just started following your blog, I love the time that you put into your crafts and someday hope that I can have the same wonderful time and craft room. About the Santa card "Jolly Christmas" Maybe a small present on the right side of Santa that is close to his hand and overlapping into the large red area. Nothing over the top, maybe shiny? But just my thoughts and I wanted to let you know how inspirational your are. Thanks!
great card - i am so glad you mentioned the card club pdf file because i TOTALLY missed the post - i started looking at the top 20 and i guess i didn''t keep scrolling down - that is so cool - i will be so thrilled to receive it and i am excited to be able to support you -
happy thanksgiving!
I love the card just as it is, sometimes less is more?? When using the water color pencils or crayons do you have to use watercolor paper?? What is the advantage to that? Thanks. h76wec
