MACM - A New Little Someone

090108-macm1.jpg

090108-macm2.jpg UPDATE: Sorry about the broken link to the template. It's fixed now. :)

Hi all!

Sorry about the delay in today's video. I had a four-day weekend and truly enjoyed each minute, including pushing off the video until the very last moment! Eek! Anyway, here we are and it's still Monday, so let's make a card. :)

This card really stumped me. I had a small not-very-detailed sketch that I was referring to, but it sort of seemed off to me once I'd finished the card. I think maybe it needed a bit more color. Hmmm.... Oh, well!

However, the one part I absolutely love about this card is the curved edge. After I sketched it out, I knew I would need some sort of template so that I could get the two curves to look right, so I created one. :) You can download it below. It will fit a standard size card (4-1/4" x 5-1/2"), but I'm sure you guys will find a million other uses for it. :)

And on to the video!

Saw your entry on Twitter, Don't miss an opportunity to go to the MN Renaissance Festival. It's an amazingly good time. I go at least once every year. Wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting dirty and dusty, it's all dirt and with our lack of rain this year, it will be dry and dusty. With that being said if you wear contacts bring your glasses or plenty of saline. Make sure to ride the elephants and have a Turkey drumstick, yum!!

Susan from Colorado:

Kristina, I finally found the stamp set you use so often! It is called:JOURNALING BACKGROUNDS SET, by ART WAREHOUSE LIMITED EDITION. And better yet for all you crazy stampers out there, it is on sale this week at Addicted to Rubber Stamps. $5.00 off! Wahoo!! The link in below.

Lovely card (as usual)
Just wondering, why do you not use dimensionals any longer? I have been seeing 3m (or something) tape as of late. Ii am sure it is pretty easy to use, I am just wondering if ease is your motivation.
(it is easier to be like you if I can understand what goes on in your creative mind)

I love this card! It has some different elements in it that are fun! A quick (and stupid) question: Are you using classic or craft ink with your acrylic stamps? If classic ink is what you use, do you have any tips for using with acrylic stamps? I have tried using the classic ink on the acrylics I have and it absolutely does not work well. It beads up and looks gross! Anyway, this is probably an elemental stamping question, but I was curious! Thanks for all your hard and faithful work! You're an inspiration!

This is the link to the stamp set from the designer...you'll always be able to find it here until they discontinue it. Love your stuff. You should do a Scrapbook Layout day once a week...so I'd be inspired to create a layout at least once a week. Think about it...that would be 52 pages a year!!

Kristina,

I looked at your card and thought it needed a little colour too! Here's a thought, what if you made the onsie on the left, the one sticking out, out of the same dotted paper that you put on the bottom of the card? It would add the colour you need and make that section a little more interesting.

I like the concept of this one!

Look at your little miss thing...providing us with a template and all ...and on a holiday Monday. You are great and your MACM was worth the wait.

I have the same 2 questions as above
1. What is your NEW dimensional product ? and why not SU dimensionals ?
2. I'm wanting to get the lower case alphabet stamp set you've used in the past but haven't yet bc I too have heard that you have to use acrylic inks and that SU inks don't work...yet you use it and it appears to work and not bead....any tips ?

LOVA your blog !

Thanks for fixing the PDF and sharing your template with all of your loyal followers.... sadly, one of the links for that stamp set (the one on sale for this week only) already said it is temporarily unavailable..... Kind of a bummer. Although, I need to start sticking to the budget a little better.... guess I had start using some of those stamps sets that I HAD TO HAVE, but never mounted yet....

It was a LOVELY CARD that you made! You are SO TALENTED!

Hope you enjoyed your Labor Day holiday!

I Love this baby card! My niece is expecting her first baby and I would love to make her this card. I have spent the last two hours searching everywhere for the name of the set you used with the onesie, so far NOTHING! You usually have the list of stamp set and other things you used on the making of your card or the credits and info at the end of the video but there is nothing here! I am going completely bananas here, PLEASE some one help me out with the name of that set, apparently from Technique Tuesday? I checked their web site but couldn't find anything like it. Thank you so much for any help you can give me with this! And by they way your work is AWESOME!!! Thank you for sharing!
