Making Bread with Marisa
My sister Marisa is a domestic genius. Seeing her now you wouldn't believe that she wasn't "into" cooking until a few years ago! Anyway, she was making bread for the week and I wanted to learn how, too. So I recorded the whole thing. :)
Enjoy!
EDIT: Dangit! I just noticed that YouTube cut off the last little bit of the video. Believe me, I had pictures of the finished bread. :(

oh my goodness, I could almost smell that beautiful bread baking...and how I owuld have enjoyed a warm slice with butter, and maybe even a lttle sugar sprinkled all over! yum!
Kristina this is great thanks for sharing! I was wondering though, How long does your sister let the loafs rie before baking them?
Are you going to make the recepie? uhmmmm I am telling you, my DH makes the bread at home and the smell around the house is just great!!
I want to try and make some and surprise him!!
Hugs!
Yummm!
ANSWERING A QUESTION:
The dough rises for 30 minutes. Hmmm... I guess when I re-post the video (since YouTube cut off the end), I'll edit the video to make that more clear.
great... like i need a reason not to do the laundry, dust and vaccuum - looks like the kitchen's gonna be messy too - but the house is gonna smell GREAT! thanks for video-ing this... i never thought to roll up the loaf dough - it will make it look so nice (my bread doesn't look so nice when make it - this will help a TON!)
Hi, just wanted to clear up the "rising" question Karla had (it sounded like you wanted to let it rise after the dough had been shaped).
Let the dough rise in the bowl (before shaping) for 30 minutes. Then, shape the dough into three loaves. Place the loaves in lightly greased loaf pans, and then directly bake at 350°. You can let the loaves rise again until double, if you want; but, I don't think I've ever noticed a difference between baking the shaped loaves right away or letting them rise again.
Hope that helps!
Oh My Gosh!!!!!!! This is a miracle!!!
Today I have beeen making, for the first time, bread!
What a nightmare...!!!! The bread is like a stone...heheheh!!
Seeing your video I understand my mistake!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
Arrivederci from Tuscany!
Love your blog

Yummy...thanks for sharing. My 5 year old loves to help me bake too. I measure and she pours, just like your niece. Anyway, do you have this recipe typed up anywhere that you can share?
Being a pastry chef, I can tell you that if you don't let the bread sit for the second 30 minutes in the preshape form the gluten doesn't have time to rest and therefore will create a more tough texture. You also definitely don't want to beat all of the air out of it with a rolling pin. If you keep air in it, it will reduce your rising time.
There is just something about watching someone create something in fast forward. Mesmerizing. Making bread in 6 minutes. I love it! Thanks for sharing!
I recently took a class from a French trained baker and we learned a little trick. At the beginning, add yeast, part of the warm water and a table spoon of sugar and cover/ Let this sit to feed before adding the rest of the ingredients. Your bread will be so much higher and less tough. As a 35 year bread maker (I prefer the heartier heavier breads) I am always open to whatever makes it taste better and could live on bread and peanut butter (home made of course). 2Am, and I am making zuchinni bread with chocolate. Insomnia does that-also makes me fat-so sun up, I run and crash.
I love your blog. I just watched the bread making video and I too loved it, I could almost smell the bread. Makes me want to go and make some bread. A printed recipe would be great. Thanks for sharing.
