SUH-WEET!

Hi kids! We're back in business! The forum and also comments over here at the blog are now working!

I eventually gave up on trying to make it work with my webhost (Yahoo Small Business) and decided to cancel my service with them and transfer everything over to a webhost that is recommended by the Movable Type people. I figure they know what's best for their software, so why not use a webhost they recommend, right? So I switched over to Pair.com and they've been awesome! :)

PLUS, Yahoo customer service was HORRIBLE! I emailed them last Friday about the database issues and they still haven't responded. I even sent another two emails to keep them informed on the weird things that were happening. Talk about awful customer service. I was all, "Forget you! I'm taking my business elsewhere!"

Anyway, to celebrate the blog and forum working again, I'm giving away a $5 iTunes gift card (sent via email). It's not much, but you can buy 5 songs or 2 TV show episodes with it! Awesome!

So, test out the working comments! Leave me a little note telling me how long you've been interested in paper crafting and I'll draw a random comment number tonight at 8:00 MDT when I post this week's Color Inspiration Challenge.

Happy commenting!

NOTE: Right now, it's requiring you to register and sign-in to comment. Don't worry, though. I'm working on getting it to be open comments again. :) Comments are open again! :)

I've loved paper and glue since gradeschool. Yes, I was one of those kids who tasted the paste!! I loved art. Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with an abundance of artistic talent, but I cartainly enjoy the process!!

I've been papercrafting since about June 2004. I always dabbled here and there since I was little, but there sure weren't the same options then that there are now!

I started getting interested in scrapbooking in High School, but it really started when my hubby and I got stuck in Southern Utah, the christmas after my little boy was born...that was about 4 years ago. While we were stuck at my in-laws I started looking at all my mother-in-laws past Stampin' Up! catalogs, and I was hooked!

Yea! Back in business! Hope your back is better too!

I started scrapbooking in 1996 or so, then a few years later moved to stamping and cards. My poor photos haven't seen the light of day since!

Excellent news Kristina.

Glad to see you're "back" and feeling better!

I started paper crafting in college, some 28 years ago! There wasn't much product on the market, so I used whatever I could find, painting and coloring paper and cardboard, even cereal boxes.

Even then there were some cool, very old books in the library about making things out of paper, and I used to experiment with the different ornaments and designs in the books.

What has changed the most? Besides having so many beautiful papers, cardstock, inks, etc. available, .....scissors!

I love my scissors!

You are amazing, and I love your blog. Thanks for all the inspiration!

I have been a stamper for about 5 years now, and a scrapbooker for probably 15 years. I did my first scrapbook when I was in high school for my younger siblings. But I have always been an arts and craft kinda girl.

I am so glad your blog is up and running again. I have been so going crazy trying to get updates and I have missed the MACM!

Glad to see you're back... I hope your back is feeling better! I started scrapbooking about six years ago, and found stamping and card-making not long after that. I've only become more addicted over the years!

I have been interested in papercrafting for several years and have made my last couple of daughters a scrapbook at graduation (nothing to brag about)! But I have only been actively papercrafting with Stampin'Up for approx. 1-1/2 years. My daughter got me interested and now we are mother/daughter demonstrators. So glad you got your blog working again. I have missed it! And missed you since you've had the back trouble. I know what it is like. I have been hardly able to stand or walk the last couple of days. GLAD YOU ARE BACK!!!

Glad all the webpage issues are resolved.

I have been papercrafting for about 3 years now. I have always loved art...more of the studio art stuff (painting, drawing) and I thought that papercrafting was interior...until I tried it and LOVED it! Now I can't get enough! I'm an addict!

Hi Krisinta,

My excitement for paper crafting (and card making in particular) started when my friend Gwen Gibson moved near me and I hosted a D.O.T.S. party for her. The company later became Close to My Heart. Later I got WAY into Stampin' Up and still am. It was so FUN to meet you a couple of weeks ago when I was touring the facility (SU) with my sister, niece, and a couple of friends when you conveniently walked by. I'd post our picture, but I look icky in it! lol

Thanks for your brilliant ideas and sharing your talents. --Kelly

I have been interested in paper crafts for about 14 years. It started when I had my first child and didn't like any of the baby books on the market. So I began scrapping and made my own. It was about 8-9 years ago that I began card marking. Thanks so much for all you do.

I have been into paper crafting ever since my daughter was born 6 yrs ago. I love scrapbooking and I like looking at other people's cards, but I'm just not confident enough in my card skills to start seriously making my own. Thanks for everything on your blog. I love looking at your stuff!

I have been rubber stamping for 14-15 years...holy cow...can't believe it's been that long. When I think about the kind of cards I made at the very beginning, it's embarrassing! We didn't even layer papers and just stamped a couple of images on white glossy paper! Boy, have we come far!!!

I've always done some kind of craft...needlework, cross stitch, tole painting, etc. BUT, one day I looked at the stacks of pictures and saw that I had to do something better with them. So my middle daughter suggested that I try scrapbooking...and that went to other paper crafts. It's all her fault! ROFL! This was about 9 years ago, and I still have years of photos to crop!

I have always loved papercrafting. I can remember loving the sound of the teacher on the TV Show "Romper Room" cutting construction paper! ... That's about 48 years ago! Whoa! I bought my first rubber stamp about 20 years ago and remember trying to melt embossing powder with an iron. ... Now I have a stamping room/home office that I spent about $15,000 to renovate this summer. LOVE IT! ... Your blog is awesome and I case just about every card you post. Keep up the great work.

Hey Kristina,

Well, for some reason I can not comment from aol. No biggy I can use explorer..I must have a glitch in my server. OK now, I have been making cards for longer than I have been a SU demonstrator, so I guess about 8 years now. Hate scrapbooking though, I have way too many pictures to waddle through! Hey Kristina,

Hope your back is better! I have been scrapbooking since 5th grade, so about... 9 years since this is my sophomore year in college. It is so hilarious to go back and look at my old scrapbooks! I have always loved pretty paper - even as a kid, I remember opening my gifts very carefully to save the wrapping paper if it was really pretty - so that i could make stuff with it later.... i guess, my scrapbooking addiction only took off when my son was born and i wanted to do something creative to document what an amazing experience it was to see him grow and discover the wonder of the world around him - that was around 4 years ago.... it is really only in the last year that i have gotten into cards and card making -- i love learning new techniques everyday and love your MACM. My son and i like to watch MACM together (he is 3 1/2) - our tradition is that we pour out a bowl of cereal (this week's favorite is Gorilla Munch) and watch your MACM - we both love it! So excited that your website is up and moving! Hope you are feeling better!
Cheers!

Hi Kristina!! So glad things are back up and running! :)

I've been stamping for over nearly 5 years... the first night I ever stamped was the night I got engaged to my hubby. I went home with inky fingers and he dropped to one knee. LOL. I figured I'd keep both the stamps and the guy! ;)

I love everything about stamping and scrapbooking- it really puts me in a good mood and I literally have withdrawls when I cannot stamp!

Man am I glad that you got all of that foolishness with the webhost worked out! And your back straighten out and now you are back!! This is cause for celebration!!

My sister became a demonstrator with SU about three years ago and that's when I started -- it is just so hard to resist the paper and ink!! oh and the RIBBON!! I have an order in with her right now for nothing but ribbon!! I love the new colors and the new grosgrain!! Anyway -- now I basically make a card a day and mail it out!! Love the therapy it provides!!

Hey, glad you are feeling better. I have been stamping for about 5 years but crafty I believe since birth. :) I just love the smell of brand new Crayola crayons!! Back to school at WalMart is a dangerous time for me crayolas for a quarter!! I digress. Love cards and just making people smile at work and I have to tell you since finding your little piece of the net here I have expanded my crafyness:) Thanks!!

Way back in kindergarten, my teacher had a special counter in the back of the class where she labeled off for all of my crafts. One project I really remember was a little paper flower that I would glue to a base page that would actually stand up on its own! So now that I'm 21, I guess I can say that I've been doing paper crafts for 16 years (although I think I've evolved a little from my little free standing flowers)

I started paper crafting as a kid but really got way into it in 1991 as a way to spend more time with my SIL. She introduced me to SU! and a fabulous demonstrator. I loved it, she didn't. Oh well, I now have a fabulous stamp room and enough supplies to keep the entire neighborhood busy. Life is good...

HI Kristina! :)
So happy you got all that pesky website mess behind you! What a headache that must have been!
I have been a fan of paper crafts since my desk buddy, Kimberly-in 2nd grade, showed me how to outline color and then color in a line drawing. :) Learning how to color opened up my horizons to this now freakish obsession. LOL
I hope your back keeps getting better and better.

WOW - that was a long hard haul. But it does look like your back in business and we've missed you.

I started papercrafting, I think in Kindergarten. I always loved colors and sissors and crayons. Somehow I've always had my hands in the "arts", as a child and an adult. I have my BFA in Interior Design and it is awesome, but I really started to get serious about papercrafting/rubber stampin 5 years ago, when I met Dawn Rapsas, a SU Demonstrator - #32 Demonstrator for SU. I'm so proud of her. Anywho, she's the one that got me started with Stampin' Up and it's been a great friendship ever since.
