MACM - Hi

082508-macm1.jpg

082508-macm2.jpg Hi all!

Do you ever sit down to make a card and then... you're just not "feeling it"? Just nothing creative is happening? That describes this week's Make a Card Monday. :)

Oh, well! Sometimes it comes easier than other times, right? In fact, I really wanted to use Rose Red for the Hi stamp, but couldn't find my Rose Red stamp pad. Substituted with Purely Pomegranate and it just never looked quite right. Like I said before, oh, well!

Anyway, hope ya'll had a great weekend. I went to see two movies--one was good and the other was two hours of my life I'll never get back.

On Friday night, I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 which was really good. It was interesting to see how they combined the rest of the books in the series for just one movie. And there were so many great parts. America Ferrera is awesome in this movie. On a side note, I saw this on the drive home. :)

On Saturday--thankfully a matinee because I'd hate to have paid full price--I saw The House Bunny. Oh my word. I heard the same people that were behind Legally Blonde made this movie too, so I had hopes that it wouldn't be as dumb as it looked. I was wrong. It really was that dumb. Seriously, you could skip this movie. Maybe rent it, but even that's a stretch.

Anyhow, on to the card!

Cute card! I do that...in fact, I have one sitting on my table...I thought the idea in my head would be beautiful...but it sits on my table all in pieces, because it just didn't look nice when I put the pieces together. Hmph! Yours looks super though!

Please tell me that some company gave you a ton of that mounting foam!!! I would be chopping it up to use and there you go using it willy nilly!!! ;)
Thanks for another lovely card, loving the color combo(never would have put pom in the combo, and it totally works!)
Thanks!!

Love the little mini card! I think that the Pomegranate Ink gives it nice contrast :-)

I saw House Bunny this weekend and I actually kind of liked it! I thought it was funny, and it was a very different plot line then I expected. (I think it also helps that I am a big fan of The Girls Next Door on E!) On the other hand - I am not a big fan of the Traveling Pants series. To each their own I guess :-)

Hey Kristina!

Lovely card! Makes me want that stamp set. :)

What kind of adhesive do you use? I know it's scotch, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere ... is it similar to the heavy duty mounting tape?

Keep the MACM's coming!

good monday morning- i love getting up and watching your video! it's a great monday treat - glad you are feeling better - sorry you struggled with the card but i is sooooo reassuring that even the greatest have temporary mojo loss... though you wouldn't know it by this darling card!

ANSWERING SOME QUESTIONS:

Kadee, I also love The Girls Next Door, but I think I don't like Anna Farris. It was fun seeing Holly, Bridget, and Kendra, though! :)

young c-m, I used Stampin' Up!'s Scallop Square punch. They only have one of those so... that's the one! :)

Kristilyn, yes that's Scotch foam tape. I just bought it at Walgreens (of all places!). Just picked it up while I was waiting for a prescription to be filled. :) You can see it here: http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=20639276&searchString=foam%20tape&category_Id=null

Hope that helps, girls! :)

Another great MACM! I've noticed that you always hold your paper kinda vertical when you are embossing. Is there a reason for that? I do mine just laying flat.
P.S. Cute lia sophia earrings again!! I always love it when you wear your lia!!

ANSWERING A QUESTION:

Cassie, I hold the card stock away from my work surface when I emboss because I hate how the heat warps my grid paper. :)

hey love!! it makes me feel so good to hear you say that you think that something you made doesn't have "it"....although, i've never seen anything that you made that didn't have IT!! infact, it's funny that you should write this, i just mentioned the "it" factor you have...in my last post on my blog.

love it all girl! glad to hear that you're doing better! we've been all over the place and i'm trying to play catch-up...you're amazing!!

Marisa:

All I have to say is that I heard the first few bars of the song and thought, "Is that Smashing Pumpkins? When did Kris start listening to that???" BTW, LOVE the CD collection that song is on. Did I ever tell you one of my friends in hs played one of their songs in church? No one (at least none of the adults) knew that it was really Smashing Pumpkins. ;-)

Hi Kristina, I know this is quite a delayed comment, but I like coming back to look at your different cards. I don't know if anyone else has ever mentioned this problem, but sometimes I can't get the sound to work on your videos. It has happened to me both at home and at work. Any suggestions? I use Firefox at home and IE at the office.
