Covering a Custom Album

070208-album3.jpg

070208-album1.jpg You all might remember the album I made a while back. I promised to show you all how I covered it and I finally had a chance to sit down and record it. :)

Please excuse the randomness of the video! :) I had no idea how I wanted to decorate the album, so I totally changed my mind mid-stream and had to improvise a bit to get it the way I wanted it. But it all turned out in the end.

The album is by Secret Scrapper, which was started by my cousin Mandy. She's the cutest girl you've ever seen and I love her to death. When I we were in Vegas last February I asked if she could make me an album like this and she said yes! So, I'm not sure if it's at her online store yet, but I'm pretty sure she'll be selling this exact album soon. Right, Mandy? ;)

I'll be sure to let you all know when you can buy one, too!

Anyway, on to the photos and video! Enjoy!

This is great Kristina!! I am not very "crafty" and wondered how to cover an album. Now I will definitely be giving it a try! I love your tutorials and I have learnt a lot from watching them.
Have a wonderful weekend. We don't celebrate the 4th of July here in Australia.

Hey Kristina, Great job on the album, even when you make an error, it still looks good. Any plans of you coming to the Carolinas for a convention?

That is a great album. Thanks for showing us that sometimes you change your mind in mid stream. Many times, I find as my crafting unfolds, I change my mind it ends up differently than my original idea! LOL.

Sarah Pratt:

I had a few questions. Is the paper a Stampin up design or is Scenic Route it's own company?

Also, I saw a few of the new SU Fall stamp sets and I wanted to know if you designed 2 of them: Fall Flair (Hostess Set, Level 2) and Heard from the Heart.

I LOVE the Heard from the Heart stamp set and can't wait to get it. If you are only able to tell me yes on one of them, then tell me if it is Heard from the Heart.

Have a great 4th and enjoy the fireworks!!

Sarah, Scenic Route is a scrapbooking company. You can see their product at:

http://www.scenicroutepaper.com/

As for the stamp sets, I did not design either of those. They were created by a couple different people I work with. :)

Hi Kristina

Thanks for the great video...especially the tips for the corners.
Can you answer another question that always stumps me.... would you cover chipboard albums/journals the same way, or only cover with paper to the edge?

Thanks again,
Have a great holiday weekend.
Best wishes
Di :)

what a great job; thanks for sharing your creativity with us.

I finished a BoBunny naked binder in May for a trip to Europe and didn't have to punch holes. I'll remember the Crop-a-Dile idea for the next time I need to punch holes through paper and chipboard.

Sarah:

What a nice surprise! That is an adorable book. You make it look so easy. I do not have a CropADile and honestly, I am rather intimidated by them. Like everything else, you make it all look so easy!

Enjoy your long holiday weekend! Happy 4th of July to you!
