Color Inspiration #17 Round-up

072808-flowers.jpg Hi all! Sorry about this one being so quick... I'm just exhausted and ready to fall asleep! Forgive me!

I think you guys broke a record this week with how many entries there were! My word! You guys really blew me away. I think I might have to tighten the deadlines on these in the future... It's taking me too long to get through all the submissions! :)

Anyhow, for my card this week, I used a stamp set from Schlosser Designs that's really growing on me. There are so many little itty bitty stamps in the set! I'm sure I'll be breaking these out again soon. :) Don't you love the little dots in the center of the flowers. It's builder sets like these that are so fun!

BTW, I got the different shades of Rose Red in the flowers by "stamping off." In other words, I just kept stamping without re-inking the stamp.

So, enjoy all the cards this week. Since I'll be at the SU! Convention this week, there will not be a Color Challenge, but still check in as I'll be posting nightly about my day! :)

Thanks, ya'll and I'll see you early tomorrow morning for the next Make a Card Monday!

TOP TEN

TEN RANDOMLY SELECTED

Flowers - Boughs stamp set (Schlosser Designs); Polka Dot background stamp, Sage Shadow ink, Whisper White, Regal Rose, and Sage Shadow card stock, Rose Red ink, small corner rounder punch (Stampin' Up!); pink satin ribbon (Kate's Paperie).

Kristina, Thanks for a great challenge. This was my first time to actually participate and I had a great time. I am honored to be in the TOP TEN, you've made my week! Can't wait to read all the reports about convention!

Ok. I have a question for you. When I'm making cards, if I want to tie the ribbon around the card from right to left, and it's a tall card, I make the fold at the top so I don't have to cut into the spine of the card. Is that a stamping faux pas? Or is it just your preference to have them open to the side and make a slit in the spine? Do you not like top opening cards? Just wondering. Now I'm going to have to go back and look to see if you ever do them that way. I'll be keeping an eye out for you at convention. Can't wait!! I hope you don't have to work TOO hard, and that you get to have lots of fun.

Ok. I see now that you do make tall card with the fold at the top sometimes. Sorry. I'm a dork.

Kristina, I am absolutely thrilled that my card was selected in the Top Ten this week! Thank you for a wonderful challenge, and have a BLAST at convention (even though it's "work" for you!). I'm sure you'll be one of the most sought out "celebrities" there! LOL!

Nicole P.:

That stamp set is CUTE, so I looked up Schlosser Designs. Am I crazy or do they only have four stamp sets?? Are they brand new or something? Don't get me wrong, their stamps were cute, there just were so few. :(

Nicole P. You're not crazy. Schlosser Designs is a brand new company. They released 4 stamp sets a few months ago, and will be releasing another 4 in time for the holidays. I'm glad you like them! Erin Schlosser
