CI #16 Round-up
Hi all! Thanks for waiting a bit longer than usual for the round-up. Sometimes the time just gets away from me, ya know? Before I knew it, I was editing this week's video and was all, "Oh, crap! I need to post the Color Challenge!"
Believe it or not, I made this card before I started on MACM, but just got wrapped up in video editing before I could post it! So thanks for being patient. Hopefully it's worth it! :)
I came across what many of you mentioned when you submitted your cards. Pumpkin Pie was particularly hard to tone down with this color combination. It's such a strong color that it often overpowers the colors around it.
The way I worked with it was to make the Pumpkin Pie a smaller section of the card, or a part that could be broken apart (to give the illusion of less "weight" to it). Thin letters always do that because it breaks up the big block of color. So I used Pumpkin Pie for the letters. What do you think? Doesn't it balance out the strength of the Pumpkin Pie?

yep, using it as your feature but also breaking it up makes this card really work. Congrats to the top 10!
Wow, Kristina - I love this card. You even broke out the crimper! Man, I don't think I've used mine is ages - my 5-year-old does though, so I'm still getting my money's worth, right? ha! Kristina, I think this was one of your best challanges yet. You may have had a lot of people ask how balance the color of the pumpkin, but the cards you posted were fabulous!!

Very cool! Love how it just pops, but isn't going overboard. I have question though, did you just stamp the letters and cut them out all by hand? Just wondering unless you have a tip for them.

I love the look of "crimped" paper but find that even though my crimps start off even, by the end, they have a slant to them. Any tips on keeping the paper straight as you run it through?
