MACM - Minimal Color

063008-macm1.jpg

063008-macm2.jpg Good morning, all! (Unless, of course you're in a far away country where it's evening). :)

This week's Make a Card Monday came about because I had two packs of American Crafts rubons that I had rarely used. Both had the same designs but one was in brown and the other in white... Hmm... What to make?

I thought to make a card that uses only those two colors. But I substituted Very Vanilla for the white just so that it would soften the contrast just a bit. Even though the rubons were white, it doesn't really bother me too much.

It looks like a wedding card, huh? That wasn't what I was aiming for, but it certainly looks like one now. No complaints here, though. A card is a card. :)

Anyway, the card came together SUPER quickly! I wouldn't mind making a few more of these. :)

Josh Groban, but I'm not sure if he was the "original" artist!

Love the card--thanks!

Have a great 4th!

Pretty, pretty card!

I suppose if I had been married a little older, I would have looked at this song for the "first dance"(my wedding song was Extreme: More than Words, does that say 1993 or what!) I think the song is David Foster though.
Great, now I have 'St. Elmo's Fire' Theme in my head. LOL

Have a wonderful Holiday.

Love your card. So simple and clean and you are right it could be a wedding card, but could be almost anything. It is really beautiful! I love the look of your numbers on your comments -- I can tell you have a graphic designers eye. Cool! Same with the banner -- very clean and graphic! Works for me.

Hi there! Great card, very simple yet elegant... I also think it's Céline Dion, I'm from her neck of the woods (Province of Québec) but not her biggest fan, so I'm not entirely certain she's the original artist.

Original music is, of course, by Celine Dion - great Canadian girl!!! Enjoy your holiday. We will miss your MACM but will be eagerly awaiting your creation in 2 weeks. We too are traveling to Utah. We will be in Park City. Any suggestions of things to do for a family?? Does Stampin' Up have tours or anything like that?? Enjoy!!

Yaneri - Cypress, Ca:

Awww! Cho, pweety! Such a nice soft touch to it! You know that the music went so well with the ribbon while you where making the bow. The music and the bow making went so well, it seem you were taking it very slow and being very delicate with it. I just thought it went so well with the music. I like the card, it has such a fine delicacy to it!

June 30, 2008 @ 11:24 AM

I really like this card...I like that there are only two colors and the rubons give it a crisp clean look!

It's a Céline Dion song from the album "All the way ... a decade of song". "To love you more" written by David Foster and Junior Miles. Very nice card by the way!

Had to check the comments to find out who! I knew the tune, but not the artist. I love, love, love this card! I have a wedding to attend in just two weeks. I will use yours as inspiration for the card I make for them! As always, thanks!

So simple and very elegant! Beautiful card. I believe the original artist to record this piece was Celine Dion. Your choice of music is perfect for each of your projects - clearly you are a multi talented artist. Thank you!

Always appreciate the job you do for MACM. As this was a 'quicker' card and you didn't need to speed up the video it was funny to watch you work at human speed like the rest of us. Thanks for your contribution to the craft.

Very pretty! :)
I'm bummed about the 2 week hiatus! You'll have to make it up to us somehow. LOL
Anyway, you now have Celine Dion stuck up in my head. "Let me be the one to love you mooooore!"

The original song was by Celine Dionne, the Titantic sound track, I think. I love your cards! I found your blog originally about a year ago from Splitcoast and have been visiting a couple of times a week ever since! Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Love your card! I did something very similar a few weeks back, trying to use up my embarrassingly large stash of SAB rub-ons.

I love Lucia Micharelli (sp?) and of course, Josh Groban. That is very pretty music no matter who did it first. ;-)

This card looks absolutely lovely, but I can't figure out how you got your AC rub ons to look so good. I bought some a while back (the same set in white I think) and don't like them much. They don't rub on well AT ALL!

Thanks for yet another lovely card. Have a fun and safe fourth!

Love the card- so simple and beautiful! Gorgeous music too! Made me want to watch my wedding video! Say that too loud and it could clear a room! LOL! Somehow I don't think anyone can appreciate a wedding video but the bride herself!
