MACM - Congrats!

060908-macm1.jpg

060908-macm2.jpg Hi all!

This week's card is for one of the many people I know that announced just this week that they're expecting! Seriously, there is something in the water around here... everyone's pregnant! :)

Anyway, I'm still obsessing over these Educational Insights alpha stamps. Just can't get enough of them! We used them at card club on Thursday, and then I had to break them out for Make a Card Monday.

I also am stuck on an embossing kick. Any and all stamping has to include embossing!

I go through these phases every once in a while when nearly everything I create uses the same supplies or techniques. I bet many of you go through these phases too. Either colors, stamps, ribbons, tools.

What phase are you in right now?

Then again, maybe it's just that I use whatever is within reach on my craft desk (aka whatever is hanging out on the top surface of my mess). ;)

Great card! I LOVE that polka dot wheel - think I need to order one! Also, loved how it just disappeared with the heat gun when filming. It was like you were doing MAGIC!

I find that I tend to want re create things that I see online. Or follow a trend when I see it.
Lately I have been into the $1 acrylic stamps from the craft store and making cards

BUT, yesterday I did 8 pages for my scrapbook
And I feel like they all look the same
I tend to do a lot of matting and using squares of patterned paper in the background

I need to get out of my rut

Glad to see you are posting!

Great colour combo! Very nice :)

Would you consider pasting a copy of the supplies list in your post? Sometimes I don't have access to YouTube (like at work) and I would love to know your supplies even if I can't watch the video. Plus, it might be easier to refer to within the text.

LOVE your site! Welcome back :)

Great to see MACM back - love the card. I have also been embossing a bit more lately but the most used thing at the moment would have to be my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig - it's getting a run on nearly everything I make.

I LOVE the embossing! And that star was the perfect accent.

Hey Roomie!

Great card...as usual! I think I've listened to 'Bleeding Love' some...2-thousand times since I picked up that album last month. Usually I'm not a big R&B girl...but that song makes my heart ache *sigh*...if only...

Anyway...just thought I'd say "hi". I'm too lazy to walk across the second floor & say it in person ;)

Claire Salter, Berkshire UK:

Well worth the wait! Thank you for another inspiring MACM. I hope you could find what you needed in your craft room!

My phase - Apart from the thickers (they are still going strong!) I love to use MM noteworthy sprial bound journalling books. I love to use one of those as a background to my card. Bit of ribbon and a few thickers and it looks cool in a dash!

Hey Kristina!!

I'm in a phase where I keep using all the same colors!! I tend to run out of a color before I know it, then I have to wait til it comes in to use it again. *sigh* Lately, it's Chocolate Chip. Last month it was Pumpkin Pie.

I just ordered some thickers, and I can't wait to get them! I love all the big words you use on your cards! :)

Whew! Am I ever glad you're back! I was really missing MACM. What was that cute nail polish this week??? My "kick" lately is using layouts from Sheet Load of Cards, which is a downloadable magazine found at http://sheetload.blogspot.com . Sheet Load is geared to those of us who like to make multiples of one design. A GREAT resource. Guest artists, fun layouts, exact measurements for all the pieces, and cool samples, too. Is that cheating??? Oh, who cares!? I still get to play with paper and scissors and stamps, oh, my!

Great card!! As always :-) Question...is that black cardstock for the base?? I am guessing it is black because the ribbon is black but it looks brown. Thanks for the inspiration.

Carrie:

Great card. Love the dots wheel.
I have a tip for those specks of powder that stick around... use a small paint brush (like the cheapo kids watercolors ones) to flick them away without having to worry about smudging your finger into the surrounding areas. I trimmed mine to make it shorter so it's not so "floppy".
Looking forward to the next card!!

Yippee, you made my Monday! Glad to see you back, I was missing my MACM fix! Love the dots wheel, although I ran to grab my SU catalog and I'm not seeing it in there...am I blind?

Love the card, Kristina...I need to remember to round my corners more. I am crazy into flowers, ribbon, and cuttlebug embossing (my new toy from Christmas) right now. If it's flat and lying around, I'll emboss it!

I LOVE this card, it is super cute, so are those letter stamps....
As for myself I am permanently in a ribbon phase, I find it hard not to put ribbon on a card!

I have been really stuck on using versamark for a while. I would have to say it my most used ink.

I can totally understand the messy craft room. I swear I have to clean/organize it mulitiple times a month. But a messy room means a well used room. Nothing wrong with that. :)

I love this card!! Such a great color combo, and the details you always throw in there just blow me away...you totally rock! :D

I've been into my punches *big time*, anything with polka dots and/or stars, and for some reason I've re-discovered the joys of dimensionals... hmmm... wonder where I could have picked up that craze? ;)

Keep it up, Kristina! You're amazing!

After dying for a new MACM, I FORGOT yesterday...until I was lying up in bed at about 1am.....I toyed with the idea of coming back down, but the thought of that leading to an all nighter of stamping stopped me. Thanks for another cool MACM!!!
