June Card Club

060208-3cards.jpg

060408-hi.jpg Hi all!

Tonight is my monthly card club. (If you have questions on the details of my club, read my answers here). I designed the cards last night and my bag is all packed and ready to go over to Paula's for some card makin' and yummy food right after work.

Anyway, I usually make it a point to ask each month's hostess if she has any requests for the kinds of cards we'll make. Paula specifically asked for small 2x2 cards. Whoa. That's small!

But they're cute, eh? :)

I kept the little guys pretty plain so that they could be used for just about anything. I picture them being used on gifts since I don't have envelopes for them. Have any of you seen envelopes fit 2x2 square cards?

The other card uses some materials that I picked up at Kate's Paperie in New York. That gorgeous blue card stock! Yum! And the green envelope that you can see peeking out from underneath the card--that's from Kate's as well. :)

3 cards - Kraft card stock (Stampin' Up!); ribbon (Kate's Paperie); patterned paper (Sassafrass Lass, KI Memories).

Hi Card - Winter White embossing powder, Soft Sky ink, Naturals White and Basic Black card stock (Stampin Up!); blue card stock and black ribbon (Kate's Paperie); patterned paper (Sassafrass Lass); dot stamp (Art Warehouse); alpha stamps (Educational Insights); VersaMark ink.

I love the colors and the black ribbon in the HI card. I don't use black ribbon much, so this is a great idea. Thank you!

Kristina, these little cards are soooo cute. Perfect for gifts. I think SU envelope template has a 2x2. Also, if you have ever seen the scor-pal, that would be perfect. Have a great day.

Those are super cute.. You can find several places online that sell 2x2 they are sometimes called coin envelopes.. I was trying to find the place that I've ordered them before but I can't find my stash. If I find it will post it. But I know I got like 25 for a couple of bucks they are perfect for a gift.

Kristina,
Cute, tiny cards. Actually, JoAnn has their own brand of small envelopes, but they're 3x3 and they're vellum. Really cute.

Love your mini cards... in re: to the envelopes... I just recently found mini envelopes in the $1 section at Michaels... I know that may sound funny but they were a 12 pack of mini note cards w/ envelopes & I bought them & threw out the note cards just to use the envelopes... :) beats having to make them myself!
THANKS as always for the great cards! I always look forward to visiting your blog.

Awwwh, how cute! Those are adorable! You asked about 2x2 envelopes, but I was thinking that since they have the thicker ribbon, wouldn't the 3x3 envies work ok - it would have alittle room for the card and ribbon to all fit and seal up. Anyways, TFS - I love your blog! I can't wait each day to check it out!

Hey Kristina - the envelopes you're looking for are 2 3/8 X 2 3/8 and they are at Jam Paper.

I love Kate's too - I spent a blissful hour in there last May. Wonderful place.

This is my first comment, I'm kind of a newbie at all this computer stuff. I have been recieving your blogs for months now. I absolutely love your ideas and how you put the videos together for us. I was kind of wondering if I could ask you some questions off the record. I know you are busy, so if not I understand. Again, thank you so much for all of your wonderful ideas.

I don't usually comment, but I can't help myself. I LOVE Kate's Paperie - my favorite store in NYC! I'm from Michigan, but visit NYC often and particularly like their Soho location (on Spring Street). Isn't their satin ribbon fantastic? It's great for gift wrapping, but I like to use it in my card making as well.
None of them can quite compare to Kate's, but I also recommend the shops on 18th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Kind of an informal paper district. Most of the stores have kind of a warehouse feel to them, rather than the more upscale Kate's. However, I find them to be lots of fun. I particularly like Paper Presentation. They offer some of their products online and are a good source for my favorite - button string tie envelopes. http://paperpresentation.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=SE
Thanks for sharing your ideas with us all.

K - too pretty! When I make these (I call them scrap cards as use up my cut cardstock sheets to make them), I use clear envies, which can be ordered from clearbags.com, and they come in a variety of square sizes for a GREAT price.
