Color Inspiration #11
Hi all!
This Color Inspiration Challenge (#11--can you believe it!?) was borrowed from Ikea. I {heart} Ikea! Such a cool and awesome store! :) I was so happy when Ikea finally came to Utah and opened a store last summer. People literally camped out on the sidewalk overnight to be the first customers inside! Can't you believe that? Crazy kids! :)
Sadly, I have been to more Ikea stores outside of Utah (Minneapolis, holla!) than inside. I really need to go again. The last time I went to Ikea was nearly a year ago when I had lunch there with my Stampin' Up! Convention buddies (Hi girls!). We had yummy meatballs and mmm... okay... I think I'm going there for lunch tomorrow. :)
Anyhow, Ikea always has great color inspiration. That's where this pictures came from and I love it!
Just a note for all of you who are participating in the challenge: Notice the use of white--there's lots of it! Don't be afraid to be bold and use a lot of white.

Hiya. As always, had a bunch of fun, using all 5 colours was a bit tough, but managed to "cheat" a bit & use them sparingly.
You said be bold with the white, right?
Here is mine... really I was more bold with the pink then the white... and as per the usual I had trouble with the olive (me and olive don't get along)

I had a lot of fun with this color combination! Since the inspiration piece was from IKEA I decided to use a lot of chrome/metal embellishments along with the other colors! The metal mesh and the sentiment on my card are both a silver metal. It's hard to tell what color the sentiment is. I just couldn't get a good picture! Anyway, here is my card:

I love IKEA, too! I'm going there again tomorrow!! We just got ours in March and I've been there once a month since it opened. I've been to both of the ones in Chicago, Pittsburgh, and San Diego. Anyway, here's my card....

This color challenge was different in that I only used white card stock and incorporated the other colors with markers. I used the markers to color my jumbo wheel, stamped cherish in going gray and then tied ribbon of an olive base color that shimmers gold, like so saffron. It shouwed me I could make a nice card without alot of "stuff".
