MACM - Button Flower

042808-book1.jpg

042808-book2.jpg Hi all!

Wow, Make a Card Monday nearly wasn't made this week! I had a super busy weekend. Well, except for the three hours I spent watching the BBC's Sense and Sensability. But that doesn't count because it was awesome. It's the version that's showing on Masterpiece Theatre in the US right now as part of the Complete Jane Austen series on PBS. However, I have the DVDs so I'm watching it all at once. :)

For those of you who like the Colin Firth version of Pride and Prejudice, you'll like this version of Sense and Sensability. Totally great. In fact, I bought this box set for my mom for Mother's Day. It has the new BBC version of Persuasion and a new movie called Miss Austen Regrets included as well. You should all go watch it. I'm telling you. Awesome. :)

Anyway, this week's card sort of resembles a book. In fact, I started out covering two squares of chipboard and was planning to make it like this, but then I switched to just card stock.

042808-book3.jpg I'm afraid I don't have any measurements other than it's 3.5" x 3.5". All other measurements after that I just eye-balled. So if you'd like to recreate it, you'll have to do a bit of measuring.

Here are the stamp sets I used, though. I bought these from scrapsupply.com: Autumn Leaves Universal Symbols and Pink Paislee Spring Fling. The paper I used is by Scenic Route.

Happy crafting everyone! Ooo... I just realized that my book club is today and I haven't read the book... oops! DANGIT! I don't want to go without reading the book! Hmm...

On to the video!

It's funny you should mention your messy scrap room, I spent most of yesterday cleaning mine up! I even posted before and after photos, it was horrible. I feel so much better about it now though. Super cute card!!!!

You have a good excuse!
One of my favorite movies is Sense and Sensibility. I can watch it over & over.
I watched the movie version of Pride and Prejudice for the 1st time this weekend with Keira Knightley. Love it almost as much as Sense and Sensibility. I also have the DVD Becoming Jane that I have to make time to watch.

Another Jane Austen fan and MACM fan checking in.
Fantastic ideas here; I esp. like the use of all the different papers to make this like a booklet! The pocket and use of a partial sheet to cover the brads on the back are highlights for me.

Kristina!

What was the tool you used to color the flower with the pumkin ink? I didn't recognize what it was.

Gail xxx

Kristina says: That's a blender pen. I bought mine from Stampin' Up! but I think there's something similar sold in craft stores. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of that version. :)

Very pretty card - love the paper. I've never met a Scenic Route paper I don't like!

And go to the book club meeting. I almost never have my book read. Thankfully no one ever seems to mind :)

What a pretty card "book". I love the colors and the stamps are awesome! That flower is the cutest thing. Thank you for taking the time out of your very busy, busy week to do MACM. I would have been very sad if I didn't see a MACM video this morning...at the same time I know you're going through a lot of stress right now. You're mommy leaving must be hard on you! It's hard to lose your buddy and it seems she was just that to you, a buddy! =) Never the less, I hope this is the start of a new chapter in your life! I'm sure your positive and bubbly outlook on life will prevail! hearts, Jenn

Hi Kristina,
Love the card but I when i watch the video it skips a lot and it did it last week too. Is anyone else having a problem cause I don't know what to do.
Carla

Kristina says: Hmmm... Not sure why it's doing that. The only thing I'm thinking that it might be is that the movie is playing faster than your computer can download it. Try pressing play (so it starts downloading) and then immediately press pause. Let it continue loading, and then press play again and watch. Maybe that will help? :)
