MACM - Awesome

042108-awesome1.jpg

042108-awesome2.jpg NOTE: The Name Stamp I list below is currently out of stock from scrapsupply.com, but they have more on order. So check back soon!

Hi all!

This week's card is for Annie! She was in the Salt Lake Marathon on Saturday! I'm so proud of her! GO ANNIE!

I really wanted to use some of the new stamps I bought from scrapsupply.com so this is the card I made. I totally fell in love with the Maya Road "Hello My Name is" stamp when I first saw it! I love a similar image that's in Stampin' Up!'s Messenger Accents & Elements, but as a stamp, I can use it over and over!

Not to mention these journaling background stamps (the dots)! HELLO! I love these for backgrounds!

I actually really struggled on which alphabet (stickers or stamps) to use for the "awesome." In fact, at first I was going to use some unmounted rubber stamps that needed to be put on EZMount first. I had video of me mounting the stamps, but then it didn't look quite right for this particular card. I'll save the video of using EZMount for another day. :)

Anyhow, on to the video!

SO-OOOO cute! Darn, I need that name tag stamp! I love my SU! sticker ones, but I'm hoarding them cause there are only a few!! LOL! Plus, it'd be great to have name tags in any color I want!

Fun video, Chickie! Thanks!!

It's always great to see your original ideas like your use of the corner rounder and way of attaching the ribbon - those ribbon scissors are serious scissors! So did you write on the inside using gel pen? Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm trying to think of an adjective for this that starts with "A"...hmmm...adorable? absolutely fabulous?...can't quite find one that fits! hehehe! I love the look of that name stamp, too!

AWESOME card this week!!! I love the rounded corners on opposite sides of the card and the card front being rigt justified. I think this ranks up there as one of my all-time favorites of yours! Of course, all of your cards are my favorites...

Great card! I like how you did the corner rounding on the card base and then rounded the opposite corners on the caramel piece- simple technique but adds a nice detail!

Danelle:

I love watching your MACM each week! SO fun! I, too, love the look of doing the rounded corners on opposite sides of the paper! Also, I saw this tip last week and wanted to share....one idea for getting the photopolymer stamps onto the block straight is to lay the stamp itself down on your paper, image side down. Then place your block onto the back of the stamp (instead of your stamp onto the block). Presto! Neat and easy. :)

Kristina says: Ooo! Nice tip! I'll have to do that next time. :)

Astronomical [that "A" word Staci was looking for]! What a tremendous collection of new ideas this caused to flash through my mind.

BTW You are good for I would probably just use a real name tag.

MACM is the best! Pure genious- really! I love your card as usual. I love how you rounded the edges on your layers and the fact that you didn't wrap the ribbon around the entire card. Great tips!

Love this card! What a cute idea. I am off to lift it. And then off to Hastings to buy Panic At the Disco. I totally forgot about their new cd.

Jeannie:

LOVE the card but you spelled "you're" incorrectly.

Kristina says: Actually, the way I have it is correct. The line reads "Hello, your name is awesome." I stopped to think about it right before I wrote it. :)

Love this card! This is just perfect for my husband's father's day card: he doesn't do sports, outdoors, or ties...more of an office guy, so "hello, your name is daddy" is perfect!

thanks so much for sharing your creativity! (really, I mean it)

Great card, as always! I like how you put the rounded corners for the top layer in the opposite corners of the main card. Adds a lot of interest.

I noticed there was an adverstiment on the side bar by Google for "Cruise Ship Scooters" by Planetmobility. They must pick up on key words and advertise accordinly. If they only knew what a sore subject THAT is!

I love MACM. I just wish there were more mondays in each week. The first thing my daughter asks when she gets home from school on mondays, is if MACM is posted yet. She is 9. She loves your stuff too.
Have a great day!

We just stumbled upon your site a few days ago and love it. I guess you've watched too many episodes when your 4 year old dear daughter sits across from you at the table with a piece of paper and tells you she's "Making a Card Monday..." LOL! Keep them coming!
