Color Inspiration #4
Hi all! Just a small update before we get to the Color Inspiration for this week. I went to the doctor yesterday and she suspects my leg is badly bruised, as opposed to having something broken. I just have a huge hematoma (about 5 inches long and 4 inches wide) just barely below my knee that will taken months to heal. :(
I didn't have much pain until the last few days, which is one of the reasons I wasn't too concerned about it while on the cruise. Apparently, there will be more pain as the blood drains down my leg because of gravity. It look like the bruise is growing instead of healing... oh well!
Anyway, on with the Color Inspiration... This week's picture comes from West Elm...

Translated into Stampin' Up! colors:

Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa
I haven't had a chance to create a card for this combo, so I'll upload my card when I do the CI #4 Round-Up. Speaking of, if you want to be a part of the round-up, QUICK! Hurry! Go make a card! And then leave a link to your card within the comments for this entry. The first 25 cards submitted will be included in the round-up. :)
BTW, you don't have to use all of the colors. The color combo is just a beginning. :)

Hey Kristina, I'm glad to here you are okay. I first thought the photo under "hematoma" was your leg. I agree you need to take a picture.

YOUCH! You know, I had a similar experience in a hotel lobby in Vegas (ummm, long story). BUT, it was over a year ago and my shins sometimes still hurt. Nothing broke, but they were BADLY bruised. It even hurt to get a pedicure :(
Here you go girlfriend!

I don't have a chance to play, but I LOVE these colors! (I'm going to have to get one of those catalogs!) My SIL and I played a "color" game this past weekend when we were making cards. Amazing the combinations you can come up with when you think outside the box. Thanks for sharing your brilliance with us.
I hope you feel better soon. What a bummer way to spend your cruise (and the next few months!).
I'm glad your leg injury isn't more serious and hope you feel better soon. Love this photo, very tranquil :o)
Ruth.
So Had to try and get in for this CC. Been wanting to and always seem to miss it. =O)

My photo taking isn't the greatest but there is my card.
Love you site.
Angie
Wow - you people are FAST!
I can't particpate this week, but I LOVE the color combos!
Kristina - I have missed you greatly and hope that you were able to have a blast on the cruise in spite of the leg injury!
Your bruise sounds NASTY with a CAPITAL N! I will say a prayer for fast healing for you and hope the pain subsides sooner than later!
Thanks for all you do - I love your blog SO MUCH!!!
Take care!
Awww, I figured you were going to have to start limiting the number of entries on your challenges -- they are getting SO popular! :) I won't be able to get my card in as one of the first 25, but I'll link to it when I finally get it created.
So sorry to hear about your leg! Hope it starts feeling better soon!
I think I should have made this a "get well soon" card ... Thanks for lifting everyone's day!
Here's my go:
West Elm
Feel Better,
Amy.
Yay! I was hoping for Tempting Turquoise or Taken with Teal. Those colors are taking over my brain lately.
I can't wait to see the 2 new, blue, In Colors IRL. They look so tropical from what I've seen. :-)
Thanks for the challenge!
I know I am not one of the first 25 comments, but I hope I am one of the first 25 cards :)

Good idea on limiting the number of cards...to bad for me that I didn't check your blog sooner and get mine in. Hope you leg starts feeling better soon!
Hi Kristina. I'm so sorry to hear about your knee. I hope you are feeling better soon. This is not my favorite card I have done. It is so not my style but oh well, this is how it turned out.
Smiles.
Sherri
Hate to tell you this but it may be more like years but I hope not! I was in a serious car accident August 2006, broke my wrist and had a hematoma on my chest from the seat belt as well as my knee from hitting the glove compartment and I still have the hematoma - it is a bit hard in that area - my mom was hit by a car and hers took 10 years to heal!
I forgot to post the link. Sorry to clutter up the comments.

Sorry you were hurt on your trip! Hope it heals fast!
I love that color combination - beautiful seaside pallet!
Hi Kristina.. Hope you're feeling better soon.. I know these type of injuries are very very painful. My mother was pinned between the back of her minivan and an SUV a year ago when she was putting her groceries in the van. Apparently the driver of the SUV didn't put the vehicle in 'park'.. go figure... she too had nothing broken but both of her legs were black. Be prepared they may take weeks to months to heal... :) Hope you were able to enjoy the rest of your cruise.
Hugs,
Lisa
Hope your knee feels better soon. Thanks for the challenge! Love this color combo! My card is on my blog.

So glad nothing was broken!
I'll try your challenge later...
Wanted to tell you to get some ARNICA gel...it's for bruising...natural food stores like Whole Foods carry it or any health food store. It's cooling and helps bruises heal faster. With my two boys we use it alot! LOL
This was just the motivation to finish up a project that has been sitting on my desk for weeks... http://paperinkandsmiles.blogspot.com/2008/04/another-unfinished-project-done.html
http://alanasstampattacks.blogspot.com/ Here is mine.
When I saw those colors I thought of this one i had done.. BUT man would i like to be in that photo...

Ouch! Hope you are feeling better soon!
25 or not... this was fun! I had to add Cool Caribbean, it just looked like the color of the sea to me. Wish I were there...but if I can't be, this is the next best thing! =)

Good to hear that it's not broken! Sorry that you are in pain, though. I had a hematoma after my c-section and you are right...they are U.G.L.Y. Sending prayers that it fades quicky - and be gone by "shorts" time!
Beautiful colors too-hopefully I get to play with them. Blessings~
In case I miscounted, here is my card made with the inspiration cards:

Hi Kristina,
I'm glad it's not serious, but I'm still sorry it had to happen at all. Feel better quick! And I love your color challenges! One of these days . . .

I was so surprised to read your blog this week!!! This catalog arrived in my mailbox a couple of weeks ago and I too had thought what a great color inspiration challenge it would make! LOVED this combo and it was one I could actually attempt because I had most of the colors! YAY! I hope you like it!
