Color Inspiration #4 Round-up

040908-color1a.jpg

040908-color2.jpg 040908-color1.jpg

Hi all! I used this week's Color Inspiration Challenge as a jumping off point for the cards for my monthly card club. So, these are the two cards we'll be making tomorrow night.

For the first card, I weaved Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain and wrapped the edges around a 2x2 piece of card stock. I thought it looked so awesome! The idea occurred to me earlier today so I just had to try it. What do you think?

And on to the first 25 cards left in the comments of yesterday's entry...

Kristina,

I love the woven ribbon - I think I have seen this somewhere and I have always kept it in the back of my mind to try it out some time. You card club sounds so fun!

I can't believe you are doing all this work with your hurt leg! What dedication! :-)

Feel better!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the clean weaving of the ribbon. Only ever tried it with paper strips to frame scrapbooking. Your cards are just so crisp! TFS. Thanks for doing all this work when you're not feeling all that well. Blessings, Amy.

Hey Kristina, that card looks awesome with the basket weave like that! Do you think you can use that for MACM?.... I'd love to learn how it is done.

It totally inspires me for the ring-bearer pillow at my upcoming wedding.

Kristina says: Nope, not too long. I'll be showing how to do it in this week's MACM, so watch for that. :)

I love the woven ribbon card! I thought about doing that for Splitcoast's Stacked Ribbon challenge (TLC163) but I guess the idea died of loneliness. :)
Hope you are feeling better!

I also love the woven ribbon and agree that it would make a great MACM technique! Hope your leg is feeling better. The one time I went on a cruise, I got a strange rash on my leg while in Jamaica -- not nearly as painful as your hematoma sounds, but equally yucky looking!

Very cute cards...love the woven grosgrain. I'll have to try that! I have a question...how do you get such great pictures of your cards and pages? Do you have a special light? Do you have your camera set up a certain way? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also, did I see that you have a sister named Marisa? How fun is that? It's not a common name...believe me. :-)

Kristina says: All my photo tips can be found here.

Hey Kristina - I was admiring your cards and noticed that somehow on the card with the woven ribbon, you managed to get the ivory ribbon around the card even though the fold is on the side. How did you do that? Did you cut a slit in the fold to feed the ribbon through?

Kristina says: Yes, that's exactly how I did that. :)

Sarah:

Are there any other stamps sets that you designed with Stampin Up and where would we find them?

Kristina says: Actually, I didn't design any of the stamp I used in these cards. :) I don't have too many in the catalog right now. But if I did, you could buy them from a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.
