Scooter & Me vs. The Curb :(

At sea yesterday mid-afternoon. The patches of light coming through the clouds were gorgeous.

Our view just as we got off the ship. It was SO cold! We walked into the Royal Dockyard, and rented some scooters to drive around the island. However, that is a long story. Keep reading and I'll fill you in.

And this is our ship! I'll have to film a video from this view for ya'll. When you look to the right, there's shops and things, and you get an idea of how HUGE our ship is! It really is a big hotel on water. :)

Okay, so the scooter story. Scooter & me vs. the curb and the curb won. I learned the hard way that I'm not too coordinated while driving a scooter! Ouch! Believe me, I'm a very safe driver when in a car, but apparently put me on a scooter and I can't drive whatsoever. I tried to make a u-turn, hit the curb, and became intimate with the sidewalk.

So, after I turned in my scooter rental, I went back to the ship to lick my wounds and ice my knee. Lisa kept her scooter for the rest of the day, but turned her's in today, too.

Tomorrow, as long as my back isn't hurting too bad, we'll go shopping. Seriously, though, I could just stay on the ship all day! There's so much to do, and I've never slept so well in my life. I always get a little drowsy when in cars, and the ship feels like one big car! I'm in a constant state of drowsiness. But I don't mind, I needed the sleep. :)

Anyway, catch ya'll later!

Hope you have a better time tomorrow. The scooter story sounds like a bummer dude! I had a bad spill on a dirt bike when I was a teen. I didn't know how to take a corner and went head first into a cement wall and was knocked out cold. I still have the injury in my neck today.
I hope your injury heals fast.

You have the best sense of humor. I love how you can look at a bad situation with humor. You seem like you are having a wonderful time. Thanks so much for sharing it with us through your pics. Enjoy!:>)

Hugs! I know that feeling! A couple of years ago, my mom, sister and I were on a short cruise to Vancouver, B.C. We were walking in Chinatown in Vancouver when I tripped over the curb and landed face-first in the street, smashing the camera and my knee, and twisting my ankle! I hope your injuries don't interrupt your fun!

Ditto on everyone's comments. If your back muscles start to hurt, my dad, who is a activator chiropractor, says to put ice on it and not heat. Alot of people think that heat will relieve the pain but it actually swells your muscles, thus causing more pain. Trust me on this one. Have fun shopping!

Ouch ... I'm sure there's a jacuzzi somewhere on the ship ... or maybe a chaise longue with a mimosa! Feel better.

Wow, what beautiful photos. I know what you mean about scooters, I really believe they were designed to cause hurt and pain to humans. when I was in the Bahamas we rented them and what a diaster that was. Hope you are feeling better today.

Oh Kristina :( sorry about your spill. I have a great remedy for you! The SPA on board ship. They are the best at pampering you! So, try it out. I'll even bet that we'd all pick up the tab for you to enjoy it. After all, you send us great things in your blog!

....."APRIL FOOLS!" .......
Seriously, you should try a massage or reflexology, it'll make you feel like a princess.

Thanks for all the updates, you are making us jealous, but we will also work harder to earn a cruise next year! Have fun for the rest of the week!

Barbara:

Ouch! Sorry to hear that you were hurt!

I did have to laugh though! While looking at your second picture, you'll see that there is something on the ground beside the 2 scooters. It looked like a cartoon "splat" as if somebody got flattened.I was pretty sure that it wasn't you but the blog post title and the picture together made me chuckle!

You know, Kristina, if you'd just stayed back at work with the rest of us you never would have become intimate with a scooter--what were you thinking?! We're missing you tons here and loving your updates. Have tons of fun and tell everyone, "Hi."

Ouch! I sure hope you are feeling better. At least it is your knee and not your wrist. I couldn't live without your beautiful cards!

Hope you are having fun!

I am sorry for your fall...I know if I was on a scooter, I would have done the same thing (hey, walking is hard for me sometimes!). And I know what you mean about being drowsy...DH and I had our honeymoon on a ship and slept the whole time (except when the boat would get into port every morning at 6...arrgh!).
