Color Inspiration #1

Hi all! I want to try something new around here. How about some color combinations, eh? I love to see different color combinations and I get a lot of inspiration from photos of interiors. Interior design magazines, blogs, and books are an endless source of interesting color combinations.
Today's color inspiration comes from Marie Clair Maison via Design Sponge. Granted, I can't read a thing on her website (help!), but the photos and interiors on the site are amazing!

This combo is so... so girly! I love it! Anyhow, if you convert the colors in the photo to Stampin' Up! colors (or any other company's card stock colors), you might get:
Chocolate Chip, Purely Pomegranate, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink
So, I took that color combo and made a card using the same colors. However, I was completely out of Chocolate Chip card stock (Gasp! Tragic!) so I used some of my Bazzill Bling card stock that's been hanging around. :)
EDITED TO ADD: Oh! I forgot! These Color Inspiration posts are going to be challenges for ya'll. Make a card or scrapbook page using the color combo and then leave a link in the comments. I want to see what you make! :)

Let me just toot your horn for you: you your very self designed the totally cool "absolutely fabulous" stamp! It looks so great on this card.
Love this color combo...I use the chocolate and pinks together a little too much so I really like the addition of the pumpkin. You should just start posting your own Inspiration Challenges for all of us kwerner groupies!
So it is your handwriting in that stamp set??! I thought it might be . . . am I wrong?
Count me in as a groupie! Even my 4 year old runs to see what "that card lady" is making!
I wouldn't worry about the lack of chocolate chip cardstock; that Bazzil bling is perfect! The texture looks amazing, and the color combination is inspiring! Must. Go. Buy. Some.
Oh my, what a beautiful creation here. Yes, I would love, love color inspiration. I was even thinking about making a color inspiration journal! Thanks for starting up color challenges, I'm up for it.
I cracked up when you said you were out of CC CS, cause girl you have everything. Are you able to pick it up at work? I'm curious.
I love color combos too and this is a great one! Beautiful card too, as always!!
wow... this is a great color combo!
Great idea - thank you! I always try to do a some cards when you inspire me with MACM, so this one will be another challenge. Love these colors on this one, to, so hopefully I can get some out!
One question - how do we upload a pic in this comment space? Or do we email you directly? Thanks again for all the inspiration!
Hmmm, want another place to get great color ideas? I do so, so love this lady's blog for exactly that:
http://color-stripes.blogspot.com/
She's in Italy (I think) and seems very... European (KWIM?). I love the photos she takes, and how she breaks the colors down for you!
And (!) pink & chocolate are gorgeous! Of course, all of your cards are. :)
Hi Kristina!
Just wondering how you got those colour dots on your post? I am guessing you used the hex codes? that the SU colours are nad then pasted a circle of that colour in your post? I would love to be able to create a file of swatches to play around with the SU colours.
By the way... I had fun at the live chat yesterday!
WOW! That is one *fab*-U-Tastic card!
Ack! I LOVE this card! Darn, that's a cute one! Fun, fun colors too... :)
Again, another super inventive idea, yippi! I have to admit I tend to use the same color combination again and again (guilty!), and when I try to use other ones, I am less excited about the project I am making... Oh well!
I am very (as in I NEED to know) curious about the "Absolutely Fabulous" stamp that looks like your handwritting: what brand is it and where can we buy it??? I do not have a beautiful and artistic handwritting like yours and I want it!
Thank you and keep up your good work!
Greaet idea! Beautiful card. I like to try a LO with these colors
Great idea! Thanks. I think I will try a LO.
this is one of my fav cards! so pretty and girly! :)
Great idea.
This is great! I love the big words with the little sentiment below! Just perfect!
Gorgeous! Love that BB Bling paper- and the letters- FUN!
I'd love to have that room in my house too... :D
WOW! I love this combination! And the Bling paper goes perfect to your card. I'll try this swatch today.
Kristina I really love all your work!
:)
LOVE the color combo. I will try it out--but my stuff is never as cute as yours!
Hey Kristina! I love this idea. Sadly, it seems that the only time I have time to stamp is if I have a swap or challenge to do - so this is great! I get lots of my color combos from the Pier One catalog - you'll have to check one out!
This is a great card! What a shame we can't get purely pomegranate in europe! Thanks Tamsin
Firstly, thanks again for the live chat. I felt like a little bit of a knob, not muting the other cameras for the first 5 minutes I was on, but what can I say, I guess I'm challenged at times.
Loved the dazzlin' diamonds you used in your 'you are' card. Here's my submission to your challenge!

Sorry, I don't know how to make that a link. Like I said, challenged at times.
Thanks for the fun today.
WOW! I love this! great inspiration, keep up the good work!
Here's mine. I also didnt have any cho chip so had to use different brown and I didnt have any pink so I switched with groovy guava. You designed the Ab Fab set?? Thats my fav!! It was the 1st set I bought when the new catty came out.
I am loving this challenge! I had a hard time at first, incorporating the orange into my card. I finally got it to work though, and I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!
Here it is!
Kristina
very nice card, and good color challenge!!
Hi Kristin!
Here is my card for your challenge! You'll find it a splitcoaststampers.com - Stacyhstamps. (I'm not quite sure how to link it for you, sorry!) I really enjoy all your card and MACM, I just discoverd you last week and I'm addicted! You are AWESOME! Thank you and keep up the great work!
Not a card or a page, but it definitely uses the colors in the challenge! Enjoy my keyring notepad here:

{LOVE} this color combo! so, so fun! as soon as I unearth my craft stuff, this is going on my list of 'must-dos'. Thanks for all the great inspiration! My 3 1/2 year old son even likes to look at your blog because of the videos (he's already a you-tube fanatic!) ;o)

I love this card! Perfect color combo for fall I think. Or any season really! :) I especially like the chipboard you use. I know that it says it's Lots of Letters chipboard, but where can I purchase that? I tried looking online and can't seem to find it. Also, how do you make it all glittery?
Keep up the fantastic work! Watching MACM or other videos is the "reward" I allow myself for getting my homework done! :)
Thanks,
Kalyn
I love these colors together! I love how different they look depending on how you layer them and which is the dominant color. I've loved looking at all the submissions, they're all great! Here's mine:

Kristina, I LOVE your blog! Can't wait to use the colors in your Color Inspiration. Is there a keyword we should use when we upload to splitcoast? Maybe KWCI1 (Kristina Werner Color Inspiration #1)? Just a thought!
GORGEOUS card! What amazing colors, so striking!
This was fun! Let's do this again!
I love your blog, and I look forward to your MACM. Why is it so fascinating to watch someone else create???

OMG! I've been stuck on these colors for a while now. I haven't acually used the pretty in pink with it (will have to try that ) but here is a gift set I did last weekend.

thanks for posting the inspiration.
Love this color combo...Since I don't have any Stampin Up! paper, I tried to substitute, but my papers don't have quite the pop that they should. Anyways, here's my card, and thanks for the challenge! (the colors look washed out in my photo, but maybe because it's a rainy day?)
I love the color challenge! I hope you'll keep doing them! Love your card too!
Here is mine:

Hey girl -
Wonderful challenge - that is a beautiful combo. I missed the chat :(
Here's mine, but Blogger has an outage scheduled right now, so check it later if you don't have any luck for a while - they didn't say when it would end, but it starts in two minutes! Please look at my card when it's done! :)

Oh, Kristina - a question.
I do graphic design too and was wondering the same thing about the RGB or CMYK values for the SU colors. Do they publish them? It would be awesome for correcting my card photos and doing my tutorials.

Love this card! It's so cute!
Ooooh...what a great card. I love the color combo!!

Kristina,
I am so excited about your color challenges! I didn't have time right away but I had a chance last night and I love this color combo. Funny, I was chatting with my friend Wendy this morning about how you should make your handwriting a font. I love my Ab Fab set, purchased because of the sentiments and the script! And now I feel like I know a secret. :D So, IS your handwriting a font somewhere for purchase? Thank You!!!!
Now I know just a little bit more about links (duh!): http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/849780?cat=4576
Thanks!

OMGoodness, I don't know what rock I've been under, but I just stumbled across your blog this morning and spent way too long looking at your wonderful color inspirations and learning how to paint my nails :) I don't have any Sahara Sand paper so I just went back and did the very first combo that you posted because I loved it. I know I'm way late but I just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration!!!
