MACM - Hello Card

021108-MACM1.jpg

021108-MACM2.jpg Hi all!

For this week's video I wanted to do something SO super easy that anyone could do it. I mean, if you know how to cut paper and sprinkle some glitter, you're all set for this card!

When I saw the Making Memories Ready-to-Glitter stickers, I knew I had to try them out. They're similar to Stampin' Up!'s Sticky Cuts Letters, only smaller which makes them perfect for cards. :)

Anyhow, my only complaint is that it's hard to remove the backing on them. Not NEARLY as hard as using Martha's Double-Sided Alphabet Sticker Roll. Now, that was a disaster. You mean they sell these things? I bought some a while back and practically wanted to throw them across the room. Although, I did do one project with them.

Anyhow, enjoy the card!

Hey there,
LOVE the card... AND your shirt... looking a bit 'on the spot' ish hehehe.

Anywho, I had heard you can take your piercing tool and lift up the backing enough to get a fingernail under it. So you might want to try that next time.

Thanks for sharing!

p.s. Wearing your new shoes today? I"m thinking the wedges!!

Adorable card - I love how simple it is with that "big bang" factor, easy to mass produce, that's what I like!

Amy, Ottawa, Canada:

Very cheery colours, bright & happy. Will have to try the MM stickers ... that looks like an easier way to use glitter & ta for the tip on the Martha stickers ... won't waste my money. Thanks again for MACM.

I love the card. I will have to get some of those stickers. I love your tips on products that work and those that don't. I also love your blouse, where did you get it? You brighten up my Mondays.

My kids love these videos too. They come running as soon as they hear the video start and I normally have to let them watch them before I do as both of their heads block my view of the laptop screen.

This card is so pretty.

Love the card. Simple is great! I've noticed so many blogs with cards that look much like your designs. You've really got a good eye for color and design. I guess you chose the right career!

while i love your style, and simply adore the videos (wish it were macm every day!) i love watching the video not necessarily for the card, but for your wit. you always give me a smile or a chortle - a good thing, especially on a monday. thanx!

btw, which paper and kits did you design for the catty?

Kristina says: Every product designer works on a little bit of everything. So I've worked on at least one thing in all the product lines (DSP, Simply Scrappin', Accents & Elements).

So....I'm just curious....who are the lucky people to receive one of your cards???? I love to make cards, but never seem to send them out like I should. What do you do with all your cards?

Love your blog, your cards, your wit, your tips, you just seem like a fun person to be around.

Thanks for all the time you put into MACM...what would we all do without it?

Kristina says: A lot of my cards sit in a box until I need them. :) There are a LOT of cards in that box.

I stopped in early this morning before work (5:45AM in Wisconsin) and was kind of sad that MACM hadn't been posted yet; however, it gave me something to look forward to all day. Thanks for sharing MACM with us.

Howdy! Thanks for sharing the ideas!
Hey, got a question for ya----
I noticed on many of your videos, the "end product" flashes up in the middle of the video and then goes back to your demonstration. Is that done on purpose? Just wonderin'

Love your blog and the ideas you share with us. Thank you so much for taking the trouble and time to do it!

From one GLITTER QUEEN to another: You can't have enough bling on a card and if using simple stickers... oh, yeah...gotta love it!

Personally, I LOVE the black strappies...(wink)

Cute card! You know you have me inspired to use large, grosgrain ribbon on my cards. I just bought some AC ribbon just like that one but in grey. Its such a nice quality.
Do you think it might be easier (and safer) to use tweezers to take off the backing. I was holding my breath with worry when you had that scalpel!

Kristina, the colors and the glitter are fabulous!!!

Bobbie beat me to it ....the tip that is I always use a paper piercer to get any stickers off even Martha's bug stickers to use with glitter. I taught this tip to a couple of women this weekend and they were thrilled! Thanks for all you share.

Okay, You really DO need some tweezers!!! The sharp points on them makes the removal of that backing stuff child's play. Do you need me to send you some? :-)

Thanks for sharing. I'm so busy in school again returning now that my boys are in 4th and 2nd grade. Anyway, I don't have time to make my own cards so I am addicted to your Mondays and constantly re watch and also hoping you will throw in an occassional extra video. :)
Anyhow I have now bought two songs from I-tunes from the ones you play :).

Thanks for letting us know what the song is and by whom.

Thanks for another great card. I always look forward to your videos. You do a great job. Also, I love your music. Sometimes I find blog music -- as nicely as I can put it -- annoying. Late at night your checking your blogs out, go to a site and bam loud music. But, I always love your selections and look forward to hearing what you have chosen each week. Thanks so much for taking the time so that we all can be entertained and learn a thing or two!

Little Stephen is so funny! I have to wait until after c=school to watch MACM bcuz my 2 boys (7 & 9) watch with me, too!
I use the tip of my needle tool or the tip of my xacto to get the backing off things, too. I don't think even pointy tweezers would work as well.

Oh- also- I have heard from other that the SU! sticky letters are just as fussy to get the backing off.

Great card!!

Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful cards! Just curious - are the sticky letters better than heat-and-stick powder? Obviously you don't have to deal with the heat-setting and such. I just wondered whether they held glitter equally well. Thanks for sharing all of your great work!

So cute! Austin watched the video with me. He loved the stickers (maybe he's a future scrapbooker). He likes to point out letters and he said, "P! Q! V!" We're still working on it. Sadly there were no Ps, Qs, or Vs in "Hello."

Anyway - looking great, as always!! Cutie!
