Make a Card Monday - December 10, 2007

121007-happyholidays2.jpg

121007-happyholidays1.jpg Hi everyone! I hope your weekend was fabulous! Sorry for not being around much--I was busy this weekend!

I got to make a cake for my grandma's birthday. I make a White Lemon Sour Cream Cake with Lemon Curd Filling and Buttercream Icing. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try any of it because I was taking photos for my good friend from work, Wendi. Her family is adorable! Maybe I'll share some photos here, but I want to ask her permission first (they're her kids, after all).

Anyhow, here's another installment of Make a Card Monday! Hope you all like it! Actual time to make the card: 43 minutes. Yep, a long one this week! It was all the chipboard letters. :)

Watch in high quality here (click on "watch in high quality" below the video).

Happy Holidays - All supplies from Stampin' Up! Three For You and Fundamental Phrases stamps sets; Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, and Wild Wasabi card stock; Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose Craft ink; Wild Wasabi Classic ink; On Board Lots of Letters; Heat & Stick powder; Dazzling Diamonds glitter; Regal Rose wide grosgrain; corner rounder punch.

Your videos are genius! I love watching each and every one where you create a card or teach us to do techniques! You make learning so easy! I love the card you created in this one, and how you kept changing your mind as it was being created! I never would have thought using a stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp dots would have made a difference, but wow!! it sure did!! Thanks for sharing your talents with us here! What you do is just awesome!

Weee, it's up! I've been looking forward to this since fiday, seriously, that's how much I love your videos and the little tips you add are a cool bonus :)

I like your glittered projects, and thanks to you a gluepad and glitter it's already on my wishlist! :D (I don't have a heat gun, so I don't think the Heat & Stick powder would work for me).

Kristina! You are a genius! I was just fooling with trying to tie ribbon and think of a way to cut through the cardstock...love your trick of marking it with pencil and then cutting with scissors! Love your letter placement, too. Are you sure you can't make one of these EVERY DAY? Pretty please? With sugar on top????

I LOVE your video! I love how you showed us the process. It seems like it takes me three times as long to decide how I'm going to make my card than it does to actually stamp it and assemble it! Thanks for the inspiration!

So that second song you used- Santa Claus is coming to town- Mike and I did a swing dance to that song for a ward Christmas party. I can't listen to it without thinking "turn here, jump here, lift here."
Love the card.

I SO appreciate the time you take to make these videos. I'm an SU demo and love learning new techniques. What is funny, it that I thought I knew how to do most everything, but every time I watch your Make a Card Monday, I see something I've never thought of doing such as the way you attach ribbons (among many others)! The only problem I see is that I also see products that I decide I really need. You should get some of these companies to pay you a commission! Also love your selection of tunes.

Love the videos...they are such a help for novices like me. The tips are my favorite part...for example, how you use/store your heat and stick/dazzling diamonds as well as using daubers for inking up chipboard. Do you use the same dauber for classic ink as you would use for the same color of craft ink?

Kristina... you are one amazing woman! I discovered your blog about just over two weeks ago and since then have been making origami boxes non stop! I had seen instructions for these before, but it never really clicked until I saw your video. And I love your make a card Monday!!! I'm in Brisbane Australia, so it's Tuesday morning for me here... but still... it's the first thing I do when I wake up with a cup of tea!! Thank you so much for sharing... I think it's so cool that I can see your amazing creativity from the other side of the world...please don't stop. Your fan base in Australia will be on the rise, becuase I am telling everyone about your blog! :) The quality of your videos is fantastic and I too am a huge mac fan (so thanks for sharing what an iPhone message sounded like on one of your videos... the iPhone isn't out here yet!). Take care and thank you so much. You are amazing! Mel :)

Your video was awesome, but you always do such a great job with your blog anyway! I love all the projects you post.
I just have one question.... why did you use StazOn on your stamp-a-majic image sheet. I thought it would NEVER come off again.... Do you have a trick to that?
Thanks again...
