Soft Christmas Colors

112807-christmas1.jpg

112807-christmas2.jpg 112807-christmas3.jpg 112807-christmas4.jpg Even though I love bright bold colors for Christmas and holiday cards, sometimes I really love the magical look of soft colors. Especially with glitter. Tonight's cards are exactly that--soft and sparkly. :)

Some things to note: The ribbon used is in fact Sage Shadow wide grosgrain. It's found in Sherbet Ribbon Originals. :) I love Sage Shadow so I can't believe I I hadn't used this ribbon until now. You might recall me trying to use it in my last video, but it didn't match well enough.

I created the embossed outline on the Blush Blossom card by cutting a piece of card stock that was slightly larger than the Very Vanilla piece, temporarily adhered it to the front of the card, turned it over, and then embossed using a light table. :)

Anyhow, enjoy!

Sparkle Ornaments - All supplies from Stampin' Up! Hung Up on the Holidays stamp set; Sage Shadow, Soft Sky, and Very Vanilla card stock; Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa, and Sage Shadow ink; VersaMark; Heat & Stick powder; Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Sherbet Ribbon Originals.

Sparkle Trees - All supplies from Stampin' Up! Merry & Birght stamp set; Blush Blossom and Very Vanilla card stock; Close to Cocoa and Sage Shadow ink; Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write Marer; blender pen; VersaMarker; Heat & Stick powder; Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Sherbet Ribbon Originals; embossing stylus.

OMG! These are gorgeous! And you just solved the problem I have been mulling over in my head - whether to buy Nestabilities for straight lines like squares and rectangles - don't need 'em now! You so rock! Thank you for saving me money to spend on other stuff I don't really need either :-) Thanks for replying to my email so quickly too!

Ok Kristina - Surprise! It's your old Scrollie friend Ashley! I know, it's been forever. I have been "monitering" your blog for quite some time now and I love it! It looks like you are having so much fun! Nick Wheeler introduced me to it and I've been hooked ever since. Right now I'm into knitting and such, but you have really got me started thinking about cards! Anyway, I just left Scroll (finally!) and graduated in July. Now married, living in NYC, doing an internship at a magazine called Surface and working for an artist. Love the city! Check out my adventures if you have time: http://scottandashley.blogspot.com. Hope you're doing great!

Oh my, these are beautiful. I love love love the embossed outline as apparently do others. Such a elegant touch. I have tired, unsuccessfully, to do this on other cards.....do you think you could do a video to show 'us' how to....and is it essential to have a light board ? I can't wait to see what you come up with next !
Merry Christmas.
