Make a Card Monday - November 26, 2007

112607-merry1.jpg

112607-merry2.jpg Hi all!

So I'm going to try something new: Make a Card Monday! Feel free to join me, or you can just tune in here to see what I'm doing. :)

After I completed this card, it occurred to me that the sentiment might not be complete! "Have a fun & merry..." what? Where's the rest of it? I totally didn't finish the card! I suppose I'll have to put "holiday!" on the inside of the card to complete it. Hee hee... I'm a dork. Forgive me. :)

You'll also notice in the video that I had no idea what I wanted the card to say! This truly is how I work. I just jump in feet first and try to figure it out as I go. My process is very organic like that. Not much planning outside of picking colors, and even then sometimes I don't know (like when I chose the ribbon in the video).

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy Make a Card Monday! Actual time making the card: 17 minutes.

OH! And before you all start asking, the music is by Diana Krall. :)

Watch in high quality here (click on "watch in high quality below the video")

Merry - Patterned paper: Basic Grey; alpha stickers: American Crafts; Basic Black, Always Artichoke, and Natural White card stock, Whisper White taffeta ribbon, Simple Serif Mini Alphabet, and Cranberry Crisp ink: Stampin' Up!

your comment about actual time: 17 minutes, totally made me bust out laughing? why? when I was about 10 years old my family got a little swimming pool, and it came with a "set-up" video. my (little) brother says to my dad: "it only takes 30 minutes, what is taking you so long?" ha! anyways, love your videos, they give me something excited to look forward to!

Love your fast action video tutorials. Without the sound instructions it is still easy to understand what you are making. It's very enjoyable. Thanks

Love the card! I visit your blog regularly and will look forward to "Make a Card Monday" :) Oh and here's an idea for the missing sentiment... put a small-size "holiday" or "Christmas" on the long "y" of "merry." Just a thought! Happy stamping!

I absolutely *love* the high speed start to finish. Love the music! Do not love you for being able to develop an original design in 17 min. actual time, however. Know this really sucks for the rest of us mere mortals, doncha know? *chuckle* Aaaah well. And, you've piqued my curiosity . . . why come you have used You Tube instead of Revver, as you were previously?

Kristina says: Thanks, Julie! I switched to YouTube because Revver does not allow any copyrighted music to be used. Technicially, I shouldn't on YouTube either, but they don't patrol it on YouTube like Revver does (Revver has people that actually view each video and will give it a "fail" if it doesn't meet copyright requirements). I really want to share music with all of you, so I've switched to YouTube. Not as good quality, but it works!

I was thinking if you just added "be" after the "&" sign it would read "Have fun & be Merry" that would make sence. I love the video they always teach me something. Now I need to get a circle cutter.

Thanks,
Maria

That is the cutest thing! Wouldn't it be great if it really only took that long to put together a card?

Can't wait to see what you come up with next Monday. I am going to have to get out my Coluzzle. By the way, what kind of envelope would you use for this circle card?
