A card for Paula :)

110607_paula.jpg

Hi kids!

Today's card is all about the punched flowers from the Three For You Punch Box (Stampin' Up!). Don't you just love those little flowers?! They're adorable, I tell you, adorable!

I haven't broken out this punch in a while, so I thought it needed a little attention. Does anyone else out there feel bad when something hasn't been used in a while? I feel like my neglected supplies are just crying out to create something!

Anyway, this card is for my wonderful boss Paula. She really is just the best and I want her to know that. :)

The pierced lines were first penciled in, pierced with the paper piercer and mat, and then the pencil lines were erased. I love these free lines. :)

-------

Okay, now for some girlie stuff. ;)

Some you were asking about my hair in the Handmade Card - Start to Finish and Thickers & Rubons videos. I totally just curled my hair with a curling iron! I used the technique in the video below. I even found a curling iron from Amazon.com like the one in the video. I bought a smaller one (click here!) than the one they use because my hair is shorter and I wanted to see how it would turn out.

My SU! upline, Erica, bought the same size they used in the video. She curled her hair last week and it was so SO cute! All of you ladies out there with longer hair, you have to try this out!

Anyhow, enjoy! Oh, and if the sound is a bit out of sync, it was like that for me too.

Paula - Three For You punch box; Certainly Celery, Kraft, Tempting Turquoise, and Chocolate Chip card stock; Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, and Chocolate Chip ink; silver brads; paper piercer and mat (Stampin' Up!); alpha stickers (Thickers from American Crafts).

Pretty card! I like the freestyle paper piercing. I really must get this punch box. I can't believe I don't have it yet.

Thank also for the video on the hair curling. I have never seen a curling iron like this before.

Darling Card!

I must get one of those curling irons. I have tried so many things to get my hair like that I think this technique may actually work.

Thanks

Shelley:

Love the way you used the flowers and paper piercing! Where DO you get those AC olive green cardboard stickers? I have looked for them everywhere here in the area I live in and, believe this, NO one has them. Where shall I venture online for ordering them??

Terri:

I check your blog every day to see your adorable cards -- you're so talented!

And, thanks for the hairstyling video. I've already forwarded it to my daughter in NYC. She'd look adorable with her hair all wavy.

And finally, I just watched your Handmade Card from Start to Finish video and loved the music in it. Who's the singer, etc?

Thanks,
Terri

Do you know what size your friend Erica bought? My hair is that long so I think I would like the size shown in the video.

Adorable card :)

Kristina, this card is ADORABLE!! Why have I never done the free-form paper piercing before?! You've inspired me to try it!

Also, I agree with Shelley....you have all those great AC Thickers and I'm having trouble finding them anywhere locally. Any tips on a great place to order them online? Thanks, Girly!

Mary C.:

1st the card ~ so cute! I must break out my punch this weekend.

2nd the curling iron ~ I own one of these in the larger size and can attest to how FABULOUS it is! I have super tight cork-screw curly hair that is just below my shoulders. This iron gives my curls a looser, more romantic look. Sooo much better than the "Weird Al" (remember him?) look. I can also get loose waves if I carefully brush the curls out. Much better than the frizz i normally get if I brush my hair. BUY ONE!
