Pumpkins! + Winner #7

pumpkins-101507.jpg

Hi all! Pumpkin carving tonight was fun! I haven't carved a pumpkin in ages! Anyway, after a slight mishap in the parking lot (my pumpkin fell off the trunk of the car and broke), Annie and I decided to share a pumpkin. :) We tag-teamed it: she helped toast all the pumpkin seeds, I carved it, and then she gave it a home for Halloween.

So I carved a happy looking face. It sort of looked like Shrek, so I added the little ears. :) The other pumpkin belongs to Annie's roommate Amber (she's the third traveler in our little NYC group and she's adorable!).

Speaking of NYC, we fly out Friday night. I'll try to post little updates while we're gone, but I can't guarantee anything. I haven't yet figured out to post pictures straight from my phone (my laptop's staying home this time). I'll for sure be updating my Twitter status regularly.

Winner #7: Alex, who commented at 5:15 tonight. Congrats, Alex! I'll email you shortly so you have respond back with your mailing address.

Thanks again everyone for joining in the fun this week with the giveaways. I'll do these every once in a while for sure. :)

Kristina, Cool jack o lanterns! And have a fabulous time in the Big Apple this weekend! You'll be oh so close, as I'm just outside of Philly! Make sure you wave, as you fly over. Enjoy!!

Cool pumpkins! We had to carve ours this weekend because the neighborhood chipmuck was eating it --- if we waited we were afraid there would be nothing left to carve!

Bummer I did not win --- Oh well -- maybe next time.

Have fun in NYC --- Went there a couple times before husband and kids and was a blast. Had a friend who was a nanny there and had an apartment on West 57th btwn 9th and 10th -- fun location! Hope you have good weather. :)

Kerry from PA:

We had a carving contest at work several years ago (we tried it once, never again). I couldn't believe how long it took/how much work it was to get the seeds/innerds out. So kudos to you and everyone else who takes on that challenge. Your shrek-y is really cute.

I love your pumpkins. When our boys were younger and living at home we carved pumpkins every year and all four of us dressed up. We always had such fun !! My husband and I still dress up for Hallowe'en.. Everyone thinks we're nuts but we have a blast !!

Those pumpkin pictures turned out perfect, Kristina! I had so much fun yesterday. Dude, I am unbelievably excited for New York. And, no, you're not obsessive for using Excel to plan our trip - I'm sure grateful. See you in a couple days!
