New York Inspired 1

I had tons of fun in New York City! It was awesome! Anway, I thought I'd use some pictures from the trip for inspiration for card for the next fews days. This first card was inspired by a peeling sign I saw in Chinatown. An awesome new friend at Basic Grey (hey Jen!) sent me some paper to try out and when I saw it I knew it was perfect for this card!
The paper I used is from their Periphery Collection, and it's awesome! I've always loved Basic Grey stuff because it's so grungy and eclectic. The graphic designer in me just loves all the layering they include in their artwork. I tend to go more graphic and clean, but sometimes a girl's gotta break out of her usual routine, ya know? :)
So this is a bit of a messier card for me. Definitely a challenge and departure from what I usually do. Hmmm... Do you like it?
I'll also leave you with a couple videos. The first is self-explanatory, and the second... well, I used a song in it, so I couldn't put it on Revver. Hopefully the YouTube video works. :) Enjoy! BTW, here's a shout out to the lovely Annie who is in the videos. Hey Annie!

kristina,
those videos were so cute. thanks for sharing. I am so glad you had a good time.
I {heart} NYC. I miss being on the East Coast. The videos were great and the card is fabulous! Sometimes change is good.
How fun!!! I love NYC...and a funny story about the purses. As we walked along the streets, guys with giant bundles of purses hidden under trash bags kept saying "Chanel? Chanel?" And I thought they were calling my name! "Shannan, Shannan" LOL
LOVE the dance in the empty subway car - with the perfect music added, too! We should all dance more. Thanks for making me smile ;-)
Love, love, love the video in the subway car...AWESOME! Never been in NYC and it's a must ... someday! Love your card... different from all your cards but still BEAUTIFUL!
love the subway video clip! hahaha! your grunge card is AWESOME!
Great videos! Does your friend realize how many people read/view your blog!?! :-)
The card is totally different, it was a little shocking when your page opened up. I like it though!
I LOVE this card! LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
I like the videos Kristina. To the millions (I'm sure it's millions by now) who read this blog: that crazy cute girl Annie who dances like a giddy schoolgirl is my sister, my favorite one in fact. And yes...that is normal behavior. Well, normal for her. Kristina, I'm jealous that you got to go on a fun trip with her. Actually, I'm jealous of Annie too, for that matter, because she got to go on a fun trip with you! Glad you girls got back safely.
Ohh.. but i want to *see* the purses... pleeeezz? And those were not tap dancing moves your friend just did on the subway, were they!
I love the card. Love the textured look to it. Looks like y'all had fun in NY! Lucky girls!
Oh my gosh Kristina......too funny!! Love the 'Kelly' music video!! I seriously hope you plan on sharing lots more pictures so we can live vicariously thru you! :) Oh, and I like the card. Cool idea to do a 'NY Inspired' series! Can't wait to see more!
These fun vids were a great way to start off my morning since my coffee pot died before I could get my first cup:( This girl knows how to enjoy herself and it makes me smile to see her kicking up her heels like that! I'm glad you all enjoyed a fun trip and are back home safe and sound.
Incidentally, I love this card! I love the buttons, distressed papers and the old lace. It works beautifully for me! TFS :)
Wow Kristina! Looks like you had a great time! I love the videos, especially those dance moves - very cool! And the card is gorgeous! In a line up, I wouldn't have selected it as yours, but you can pull off anything and make it look REAL good! Fabulous, actually!! Of all the new BG papers I had to get the entire Periphery pack first. Obscure works for my 12 year old skateboarding DS too!
You keep us entertained, educated, and surprised! I love it!
This car is: Totally different ... but so yummy! Love it, love it! Glad you got back home safely, and it looks like you had an amazingly fun time!
WoW! Tu tarjeta completamente diferente, pero bellisima! Los videos fabulosos!
Love the card...love love the videos...funny....Annie is quite the dancer...lol!
LOL, that subway video is pure win!! :D Love your card, "grungy" is something I don't see a lot in card-making ;)
I SOOO wish I was there with you guys in NYC to see the Annie dance in person. Hilarious. Can we at least like travel to Park City or something and pretend we are in NYC? hehe
Great video with the Kelly Clarkson. Your friend so uber talented! ha
Does Annie have her own blog? I think she's the next YouTube star :-)
did you have fun or what? Oh, to be 20 something again and do these crazy fun things. These will be great memories. Glad you had a fabulous time
Whoa! What blog am I on? Love the card and the videos! Welcome home.
So, just how many purses DID you buy? Love the videos - love your blog!
Just came across this post from awhile back and was delighted to see that you came to the Big Apple. If you're planning to do it again, let me know. I'd love to meet you there (I live only an hour away) and say hello or maybe do lunch!
