Christmas Thoughts

101707-peacejoy1.jpg

101707-peacejoy2.jpgIf any of you have been following what I've been listening to over the past few days, you know I've been breaking out the Christmas music a bit early. Well, a bit early for anyone else besides me. ;)

I've always loved Christmas! I love everything about that time of year, so without fail, I usually start my Christmasing a bit earlier than most. This spills over into my card making as well.

This card came as such a suprise to me! Sometimes when you're creating, things just pull together. Call it fate, call it inspiration--it rocks! I was on a roll after I made this little card, I had to make another (watch for it tomorrow). You can also click on the card to see it larger. :)

Using a stamp-a-ma-jig is essential when stamping those thin-lined letters. And I also used it to place the ampersand (in Sahara Sand so that it fades a bit into the background). So break out those stamp-a-ma-jigs! If you don't have one, or rarely use the one you have, you need to go grab it (or buy it) now! My stamp-a-ma-jig is a permanent fixture on my crafting desk.

What supplies never leave your craft area? I want to know. What is essential for you?

well, i am just going to have to pull out the ol' stampamajig! i have never used it and it looks like it works some magic for you, so now i will have to try it. i've always just thought of it as a big pain and extra steps, but if it makes me make a card as fast as you did in that video, it's a must-use tool!! hahaha!! no really, my doo dad that i can't do without is my little 6 inch ruler!! i love that thing and get so upset when my kids have run off with it!!

I love my SAMJ, too--best positioner on the market! Hmmmmmmm. Sakura Quickie Glue Pen is always on my work surface. I always buy TWO whenever I find them, so I never run out! *grin*

My must haves are still dimensionals, stamp-a-ma-jig (more lately cuz I have so little time), corner rounder punch and SU! catalog.

I keep my crop-a-dile close at hand! I love that thing!! So much better than the old hammer and punch!!

Hi Kristina -- love that darling, crisp card! I moved my Christmas music back onto my iPod a few weeks ago so you're not too early at all! My one stamping must have is my cutting mat. I use it to measure plus it helps me to get nice, smooth images (instead of the wood grain of my table) when I stamp. Have fun on your trip!!

Hi! Love your card - very creative! One of the tools I always have on my work surface is my sewing scissors... the big honkin' ones by Fiskars. I use them for cutting ribbon and I put ribbon on pretty much everything I make. I find they cut ribbon way better than the paper snips do since they are made for fabric.

Kristina, you are not alone with the whole Christmas in October (sometimes earlier) thing.. I have my Christmas music on my iPod and don't remove it!! ha!

so.. on my craft table i ALWAYS have my Basic Grey magnetic mat (cutting mat) that i use as my work-surface, and i cover it with a piece of white computer paper. to the left of that i have my A.M.M medium-sized tote stuffed with all my essential tools (Zip-Dry, scissors, glue-dots, sanding block, paper distressing tools etc etc)... my sewing machine is on the corner of my table to remind me to use it and i have my making memories rotary paper trimmer on there too.. so.. that's MY table.

have a great day!

The Items I have to have at my fingertips are: my hobby blade, SAMJ, crop-a-dile, and paper trimmer. Oh yeah, I almost forgot--my scor-it.

I have been listening to Christmas music regularly for about a month now, but I have been known to listen any time of the year--Feb, June, whenever. I LOVE it. And as Tobi said, I keep it in my iPod at all times.

Love your card. Never leaving my craft are are the following: my SAMJ, SU's Itty Bitty Backgrounds, sponges, Sakura Quickie Glue Pen, Crystal Effects (I use it often for killer adhesive).

Okay, I think this may be one of my favorite cards you have done. I love that ribbon combination. My new must have craft item is the SU grid paper, I love it! I used to use computer paper but the grid paper is so much better and I like that I can use it as a ruler. I will have to get that stamp-a-ma-jig and try it. Thanks!

Great card! Now I wish I didn't have to go to work so I could get a jump on my Christmas cards. Right now! My craft room essentials are dimensionals and the agua painter. Now I think I'm going to break down and get a SAMJ. I have my eye on the crop a dile, and would love to see how it works (hint-hint)it would make a great video.

VERY CUTE! I'd have to say that my Watercolor Wonder crayons (aka Adult Crayons) and my blender pen rarely leave my desk. I've seen the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig at a rummage sale once, but didn't know what it was for. I agree with Susiestampsalot that you did make it look easy in the video clip. Might have to pick one up afterall. I also like to keep the StazOn out on my desk, but that is more so that I can sniff it... I LOVE THAT SMELL!

Kristina,
Cute card. I love it. I have also been working on Christmas cards, but once I get into that it's hard to get out of it!! On my desk are sponges, the distressing tool, and glue dots! I was recently inspired by you to put my stamp a majig up there too, but haven't had much time to stamp this week. Thanks for the inspiration!

Beautiful card! I love the combination of fonts used. My stamp-a-majig is always at my side along with my Palette Noir Black inkpad.

Don't feel bad I was listening to Christmas music last night. At least I know that I am not alone. My husband thinks that I am carzy.
As for stuff that never leaves my side. It has to be my paper cutter. I have no idea what I would do with out it.

Thanks for a beautiful card!

Maria

Well, as I have a Pampered Chef Tool Turn-About on my desk (and it's stuffed full!) there are lots of items that never leave my desk LOL! Aquapainters, scissors, sanding blocks, Stampin' UP Anywhere Glue sticks, ruler, brayer, pencil and pen...what hasn't recently left my desk, though, are American Crafts felt flowers (Greenhouse). Those things are FUN!!!!

I love this beautiful little card! the colors just POP at you, and it's crisp, clean, and I love the stamping you did on it. I began my Christmas cards back in July, so I get in the mood early myself. The tools that are always close at hand are my paper trimmer, little scissors and my bone folder (among tons of others)

OK, You've inspired me. I've had a Stamp-a-majig for almost a year now, and I don't know if it's ever left the box it came in. I need to use it!! My essentials are the Stampin' Write markers - I always find the color I'm looking for in there, and SU sticky strip - which I always use to adhere ribbon. FANTASTIC!
And as always, LOVE THE CARD!

I love your card! It's so bright and cheery! You are right, it is time to start making some Christmas cards. I also love this time of year. What things I have on my desk at all times? Hmmm, well of course my adhesives and scissors are always there and I definitely love my stamp a ma jig as well. It took me forever to realize that using that tool would make stamping so much easier. Now I wouldn't stamp some things without it. I also love my punches and they are in the drawer on my right hand side which usually stays open while I work. My ink pads and markers are on my desk within easy reach. I also have my bonefolder on my desk and my favorite ribbon in my Stampin Up! ribbon holder. I find that if I don't have everything right at my fingertips I just don't use it.

Love this card!!! I just love everything you create!!

I think my Must have would be my Crop-a-dile, my paper cutter, paper snips and ribbon. I use all of those all the time. I just started using ribbon when I became a demonstrator, so I don't have much to choose from, but I'm getting there SLOWLY! :)

Thanks for sharing with us!

My personal essential is my mat pack b/c I pierce alot. I don't do eyelets much anymore, but when I do, I am anal about getting it in the perfect place, esp with multiples and it's great for that use too!

Kristina! This could NOT be cuter........seriously!!!! LOVE it! I totally need to get crackin' on my Christmas cards - you've inspired me, Girly!

As for what I use a lot.....seems like lately my clear embossing powder is never far from reach! I just love how it makes the color I'm working with POP!

These days my brayer stays still just long enough to dry. Unfortunately I have a table full of brayered backgrounds feeling naked and unfinished (because they are!). And then there is the purely pomegranate ink pad that never gets put away. I also love my stamp-a-ma-jig. It stays within reach.

I love what you do with your blog. Your short videos are great!

What a fantastic card! I have a stamp positioner by PSX that I use quite a bit, but I think my paper trimmer is always close at hand, too.

Mmmmm I love it. I think we need to get together and stamp. Do a challenge like we are using all of the same supplies and see what we can come up with without looking at each other's stuff. Have you seen the trading scrapbook pages feature that Simple Scrapbooks does? Basically you would make a layout, and then put together a kit using all the same stuff and I would make a layout too and we'd see how different/alike they end up. And then I would do the same for you. Do you have room in your stamp room for two people? If not you should come over to my place.

As always, LOVE the card. Any chance you've turned your handwriting into a computer font? I need your handwriting! My 'fingertip' tools: SAMJ (of course!) and my mat pack...for positioning and piercing. I have lots more at my fingertips, but those are what I reach for on just about every single card.

This is an awesome card. I really like the collage/cluster treatment on the title. Clever!

For frequently used tool ... I finally started leaving my paper piercer and mat out on my work table, because I found myself digging it out over and over.
