Stamp Club Make-up Bag

When I first started my stamp club over a year ago, I always felt bad for the girls who couldn't make it to our stamp nights. So, a few months ago I started preparing a "make-up bag" each month that is passed around to each person who did not have the chance to make the projects. Generally the bag is passed around pretty quick, too. I guess it helps that all but one of my stamp club members are my co-workers and I see them almost every day. BTW, the one who's not my co-worker is the wife of a co-worker--hi, Laura! :)

This is what I do...

When I prep for stamp club, I always cut enough card stock for each person (I have 14 in my club right now), plus one set for me to demonstrate with. Whoever can't make it that night, I set aside their materials for the make-up bag.

The make-up bag consists of:
- Stamps used in the projects (not the whole set, just the specific stamps)
- Inks (I will use Stampin' Spots whenever possible, but sometimes I will include a regular stamp pad)
- Pre-cut card stock and ribbon
- Instructions with photos and a list of all supplies included in the bag (so each person can make sure all materials are returned)
I just finished prepping the bag for my August club. It's worked pretty well for the past few months and even though it's a bit more work, it's completely worth it to me. Catch a glimpse of the instruction sheet for August here. You can see the contents for August below, plus the bag it all goes in. I love gift bags, so I always have a cute new gift bag each month. This month's make-up bag was found at Hallmark:

Hi! :) lol -- Oh yes, that reminds me, I totally need to get him to bring that bag home! (When it's my turn, of course:)

Thanks for doing that!! I'm excited! (even though it's always more fun to actually BE there ... darn that cold.)

Are you allowed to sell those kits to online?? :)

Kristina says: Hi Chrissy! Unfortunately, I don't offer any online kits right now. I just do this for my stamp club girls. Thanks for asking, though. :)

I just went to a stamp club last night myself. You seem sooo together! I have had to miss several of my meetings and I would have LOVED to get a make up bag.

Would you mind emailing me the dimensions for the gift card holder. I just love that idea. Thanks for sharing your great work!

Pam Downs:

One question...Do your customers stamp the cards from the make up bag at the next camp they attend, or do they take the bag home and return it when they are done?

Kristina says: Hi Pam! The girls take the bag home with them for the night and bring the bag back the next morning either to return it to me or so they can pass it on to the next person on the list. I always attach a list of names and once they've had an opportunity to take the bag home, they cross their names off. Hope that helps!

What an AMAZING idea!! I always try to make an extra project for the people who can't be there, but how fun for them to get to do it themselves, even if they do have to miss the fun of the group meeting. My club would LOVE this!! I'll have to give it some thought and see if I can make this work. Thanks for sharing such a great idea!!

Wow, this is a great idea. I always hate when folks miss my club, but haven't come up with a good idea of how to 'catch them up'. You are luck in that all of your folks work with you. My people are from all over the place in many different towns. I fear it would take the entire month to get my stuff back. I do however, LOVE your instructions. It must take you a long time to organize all of this like you do each month. I consider myself a highly organized person, but I can't hold a candle to you. I'm in awe! Great work!

What a great idea! I may have to see if I can incorporate something like this into my stamp club too. I've made up the projects for girls that have had to miss, but I think it would be more fun for them to do it themselves.

That is so great that you provide that service! I can't part with my stuff for that long because I don't have duplicate pads and such. What I do instead (and might work for others) is I ask the clubbers that are there if someone would be willing to make two projects because "Mary" can't attend. Then I include their finished project in their order so they at least have their item. I'm sure they would prefer to stamp it themselves, but this was a good compromise to just missing out!

You don't know me from Adam, but, I *love* your work! It is *hugely* inspiring, and, well, at risk of scaring you, which I don't mean to do, I think I may be classified now as a Kristina Werner Stalker. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all the beautimous wonders you share here and on Splitcoast! Ardent admirer, Julie (userid JulieHRR on Splitcoast)

I can only say "I wholehearedly agree" to everything that's already been said. Thank you, too, for including the instructions to your projects for the Make-Up Bag. I feel like I'm kind of like a fly on the wall, though I'd like to be part of the club. Your customers are lucky to have you as an instructor.
