2nd Grader

(Yes, a scrapbook page! Can't you believe it! I haven't scrapped in SO long!)

Every September, my SU! upline holds a large training in St. George. Last year was my first opportunity to go and I'd only been a demonstrator for one month! This year I'll be going but with a bit more experience. :)

This weekend is the training and I should have started planning sooner! Not only is the get-together like a mini Convention, but there are contests as well! Last year I didn't know about the contests until I was there and almost entered a scrapbook one until I found out that I couldn't keep my entry. Hm. Well, okay.

2ndgrader2-091307.jpg So this time I wanted to plan ahead and possibly re-create a layout to enter into the contest. No such luck! I don't have time! I spent a long time last night and a then tonight when I got home, fretting over this little page. I just couldn't figure out how I wanted it!

Over all, I'm happy with how it turned out, though. :) What do you think? I don't think I can part with this one, even if I were to win a contest.

2nd Grader - All supplies from Stampin' Up! Polka Dots and Petals, Simple Serif Mini Alphabet, and Typeset Numbers sets; Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Kraft, Taken with Teal, Rose Red, and Whisper White card stock; Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand Classic Stampin' Pads; VersaMark; Chocolate Chip and Taken with Teal markers; On Board Lots of Letters; Winter White detail embossing powder; Sherbet Ribbon Originals; paper piercer and mat; uni-ball Signo gel pen; Metal Edge tag.

I love this and wouldn't be able to part with it either. Why can't it be returned to the owner anyway? :D Your journaling is so cute and heartwarming as well.

LOVE IT!!!!! I would definitely submit it -- now that you've taken pictures, you can make yourself another one when you get a chance. It's a great layout and I'm pretty confident that you'll win.

My son's in 2nd grade and I know that I'd like to try to make this layout. Thanks for sharing. In Emily's words, I want to BE you! I'd give my left leg (OK, my husband's left leg) to break open a bottle of wine and stamp with you one evening! You ROCK.

Pam Downs:

LOVE your scrapbook page! I wouldn't be able to give it up, either.

What did you used to get the black/white polka dots on the teal card stock?

I absolutely LOVE everything you do! You are number ONE on my stamping goddess list. :)

Thanks for all your beautiful artwork,
Pam

Kristina says: Hi Pam! I used the outline dot circle stamp from Polka Dots and Petals to make the dots, then embossed in white. After that, I colored in the centers with a Taken with Teal marker. :) Hope that helps!

Sandra Poarch:

Thanks for the dot idea. Wow I never would have guessed you used that stamp. I just thought is was Patterned paper. Gorgeous!
I don't know if it was Splitcoast or another board but a while back someone was making fonts from handwriting. I wish I knew where that was. You could definately earn some money or make a TON of friends by creating a font with your handwriting. And if you ever do, please let me know. I never journal because I hate my handwriting.

Oh how I wish I could scrapbook like you do. This is amazing and there is no way I could part with it if it were me. I guess you could always replicate it in the future since you have the fabulous picture.

I have to ask, do you print your journaling or is your handwriting that fantastic?
