August Stamp Club

This month's stamp club projects are getting designed very late! Stamp club is on Wednesday night and I just got around to creating them tonight!

A big thanks goes out to Kelly Lunceford (atomicbutterfly) for the cute gift card and holder she sent in the mail! I picked up some things for her at Convention, and this is her thank you. Now I get to thank her for her thank you! :) I used her card as inspiration for the gift card holders we're making at club this month. :)

Here's Kelly's:

And here's mine (including a view of the inside):

The second card we'll be making at club this month was inspired by one of the make-and-takes at Convention a month ago. I modified the colors and the stamp sets, but it's basically the same layout. :)

Oooh, LOVE the birthday card!!! Those colours are fantastic together. Think it'll be my inspiration for the Birthday page I still need to design for my Sept scrapbook club!!! We'll see what I come up with. I absolutely LOVE your designs - glad you switched up (whatever it was) so that we can comment easier now. :) Fabulous work!

Those gift card holders are too clever - I'm going to have to try that. And I just love your friend card, that design is so simple & perfect!

Dawn (dawnsing):

Hi Kristina! How fun that you and Kelly are friends! She is another one of my faves on SCS! I'd LOVE to meet you girlies some day!

Your cards this morning are darling!! Could you maybe tell me the measurements you used on making that gift card holder? I'm assuming it's one strip of paper that you scored twice?? Thanks for your help! Have a SU-PAH day!

Kristina says: Dawn, the dimensions are 4-1/4" x 7" and then scored at 1-1/2" and 4-1/2". Hope that helps!

Ohhh, I so love that gift card that you made. That set is so adorable and you always use it so well. It's definitely on my wish list. Great template idea for the gift card and thanks for turning me on to Kelly, her stuff is great. I also love the new color scheme that you used for the second card. Can you gives us some good tips to picking out great color combos. I noticed that one of the reasons your cards really wow is that you really know how to pick the right color combos. I have read many books about this subject but still feel like I am not getting it. Do you have any tips?

Ooh! Love those little gift card holders! Great idea for holiday workshops! Dawnsing above asked what I wanted to ask - what are the measurements?

Kristina says: Kim, the dimensions are 4-1/4" x 7" and then scored at 1-1/2" and 4-1/2". Hope that helps!

Charlene Austin (SCS - Willow01):

All of your work is so great!! Really fresh and really appealing. I saw your gift card on SCS and when I saw your name I was like "hey I know that girl". I have been reading your blog for months now. Isn't it funny how we feel like we know you or are good friends with the people who's blog we read after a while. Keep up the great work. I truly enjoy viewing your cards.

These are so perfect - I wish I could come to your stamp club! Everything you create is how I wish things would come out of my head and end up on "paper". Maybe it will happen eventually. I adore your style and it's probably a good thing I don't live near you because I would stalk you to try to pick up some of your genius ;) TFS
