Home Sweet Home

Well, I made it home from Denver! It was a wild ride at Convention and definitely a tiring one, too. But so worth it! I feel motivated and ready to step up my business.

Just a couple ideas that I picked up that I want to try:

- Monthly Classes. The topic will change each month (i.e. designing simple cards using patterned paper, or watercoloring).
- Monthly "Stamps By Mail" Kits - This is to reach customers that have moved away or who I don't see regularly.
- National Card Making Day - Sort of a stamp camp where attendees will make over 20 holiday cards and a decorative box using Simply Scrappin' kits.

Before going to the Awards Night on Saturday, we (the roommates and I) brainstormed some big ideas in order to achieve our goal of earning the incentive trip in 2009 - a trip to Hawaii! I'd love to go to the Hawaii and these are just a few of the ways I will get there. :)

Now let's look at the swap I made for my Convention roommates. I made this 5x5 book before leaving for Denver and I haven't had a chance to fill in all the journaling, but here are some shots of the book:

Hi. I don't know when or how I found your blog; but I just wanted to say, I love checking out your stamped samples. I am a SU! demo as well, and I find myself inspired by the things you create. ( don't worry I don't copy--I'm more of a this is for me kind of SU! hobbiest)...You have a wonderful talent for putting colors together.

I always feel inspired to make cards after I've seen one of your cards. Thanks
Sherry

I love your work! Thank you for sharing it with us.

I love the album you made for your roommates.

What is the font you used that says "day two classes" or "day one classes". I am assuming that it is a computer font. :)

I hoping to go to convention next year. You have definitely made we want to go even more with your great pictures.

Thanks,

Jen

OMIWERD! What a wonderful roomie gift- very beautiful! For the small envelope that says "Things i want to remember" and "Things i want to forget"- what would you put in it? Or is it a section divider? Also, are the pages covered chipboard, or just cardstock? Thanks for sharing!!

Sounds like you had a great trip and your business ideas should help you get to Hawaii.

So cute! I'm sure your roommates will love it! I love the colors, and completely agree with sherrywilliams: you do have a knack for colors. Thanks for sharing.

Love the class idea. I am a hobby stamper, know only a couple of friends that enjoy stamping also but would love the opportunity to meet others like me in person, learn new techniques and have the opportunity to see some products in person before ordering.

Jen - Actually, that's just my handwriting. :) And you definitely need to go to Convention. It's awesome!

Denise - Inside the little envelopes, I put a small 3x3 piece of card stock. That way they can fill out what they want to remember and what they want to forget. :) Only the front and back covers are chipboard. All the other pages, I made sure to use card stock (and then put patterned paper over it if I wanted). That way it was sure to have some stability.

Margot - Do you have an SU! demonstrator? If you do, suggest the idea to her. If not, email me and I'll tell you when I'm planning to have mine (assuming you're in the Salt Lake City, Utah area).

Hope that helps!

Kristina

Hi Kristina. What a beautiful little mini book. I love all the unique pages. What a great idea to use an envelope on a clear page. I had a feeling that was your handwriting. Could you get anymore talented??? I am so glad that I got to meet you at convention. You are such a sweet person and have such a great gift and talent for what you do. I know you will go far. One more day until I can order from the new mini catalog and you know what I am going to order. Take care and have a great day!

Wow wow wow Kristina! That book is awesome! I love the ideas you come up with! And thanks for letting us experience Convention through you. Never been -- one of these years!
And, I wanted to offer a belated congrats on being a cover girl again! Your round card gave you away - knew it was yours! When I buy Cards, I always flip to the back to see who's work is included, but they don't do that for the scrapbook issue. I came across a couple of your pages in this month's issue, and recognized them right away! Even little peeks in your gallery are obviously memorable! You're having a tremendous publishing year! And I predict even bigger things for 2008! You should be SO proud!

You are so talented! And have such a good eye for color. I just tend to stick with usuall favorites, but you inspire me. I'm also a SU demo, and was wondering what "Stamps by mail" is? Could you email me (stampinwithamanda@gmail.com ) when you have a moment and let me know a little bit more about it. Thanks so much! Your Awsome!

paper addict:

Hi Kristina! I love the book - LOVE everything! I have a question about the white ink on your transparency sheet. What white is it? I have trouble getting my white stazon to look that white so I'm wondering if that's what you used or something different. Thanks and keep it coming!

Yep, paper addict, that's just White StazOn. I did re-ink the pad right before I stamped it, though. It tends to dry out too much if I don't. :)
