Early morning blog
I haven't been in a blogging mood lately. I haven't been in a real creative mood, either. I'm sure everyone goes through phases like this, though.
I'm sure what's causing this creative slump is stress and lack of sleep.
I'm leaving for Virginia early Saturday morning and I'll be gone for a week., so I'm scrambling at work to get everything done before I go. On top of that, I sort of changed jobs (I moved to a different team within the company). My job is essentially the same--I still design--but I'm working on different projects now. And this new team is definitely more busy that my last team. Just lots to do. :)
I also left my cell phone in my sister-in-law Kristi's car on Tuesday night. And she lives an hour away... I feel so disconnected. But my brother who lives near me works near Kristi's home and is supposed to be getting it from her today. Hopefully I'll have it back tonight. Please, please! Pretty please!
AND I have stamp club tonight. The projects are ready to go, but I still feel extremely unprepared. I have 3 projects for them. Two are semi-complicated and time consuming, so I kept the third super simple. I don't particularly like the really simple one, but I think it's okay.
AND I feel the need to create something, to just sit down and get some paper under my hands... but I have no time. I think I'll pack some scrapping stuff in my suitcase when I go to Virginia. I'm going with my mom, my aunt and my uncle, and my aunt loves to scrapbook so maybe we'll scrapbook a bit while we're there.
As much as preparing for this trip is causing me stress, I will really need to break once it comes.
More recent work (and some new AC)
Hi all! I've spent most of the week organizing my scrap room (more like a corner in my office). My stamping and scrapping things were taking over the room! And with the addition of the new goodies from American Crafts, I needed to do something about it.
I found some awesome 12x12 drawers at Target. I bought a unit with 7 drawers and then another to go on top with an additional 3 drawers. It's the perfect size for all my scrapping things! The only things that I don't have in the drawers is my Stampin' Up! stash, including all the stamps. I'm trying to keep them separate so that when I go to prepare for workshops I don't get non-SU things mixed in. I don't think I would, but you never know. :)
So the new AC -- ahh!! The girls on the design team know how excited I was to come home and see the box on my porch! I sent them a thoroughly ridiculous email describing the wonderfulness that is Sarah and the other AC goddesses. Those sweet girls spent an entire day packing boxes for us. They are such wonderful people and I am so blessed to be associated with them. :)
Such a beautiful box. Full of goodness. And yumminess.
I've spent most the weekend (except for going to see a preview screening of Flicka--very good, BTW) playing with my new AC. Sigh. I love it. I especially love the Thickers.
Anyhow, here are some new creations. All should be new to you, but half are ones that I made a while ago that were submitted to magazines and didn't make the cut (boohoo!). Most of what I made this weekend resides in the "reserved to submit to magazines" category. Sorry 'bout that. Hopefully ya'll see it soon--in the magazines! Or maybe they'll resurface here next month.
Enjoy!

A long TV recap
I've been pretty non-existant over here lately. Mostly because I've had no motivation to write about anything. In fact, I haven't even been in a real crafty mood. I just want to watch all the new TV shows!
Ahh... I love fall tv season--so many shows to choose from!
So what's my new favorite? It might be Heroes. For some reason, this show really intrigues me. I will be watching it for at least the next few weeks. I'm not sure where it's headed, but I want to watch to find out. :)
Gilmore Girls doesn't seem the same this year. Even though there's only been two episodes so far, it just seems like something missing. I think it might be because both the main characters are stagnant at the moment, not knowing what to do next. It makes the whole show feel like that. It needs some direction.
Project Runway! I'll admit, I found the New York Fashion Week website and looked at all four designers' collections. I couldn't help it! I was so curious! So, now I just need to wait to find out who won... plus, it's nice to see all the drama surrounding making the collections. I just love Laura! She's a bit of a drama queen, but at least it's entertaining.
The Office was a tough start for me. With Jim not in Scranton and the weirdness of the “Gay Witch Hunt,” I was left wondering where the show I loved went. But the following two episodes are doing better. It was especially nice to get back inside the office last night with “The Coup.” I just loved it when Michael finally cracked Dwight and he started begging Michael for his job! HAA!! So great!
Okay, what else?
So I've been TiVo-ing Oprah while I'm at work. I'm loving “Oprah and Gayle's Big Adventure”! Every Tuesday, it's like a little treat! So funny!
I can't think of anything else right now... I'm sure I'll think of something later. :)
