I've been tagged!

by Caroline. :)

1. If you could build a house anywhere, where would it be?
San Diego. It's so beautiful there! And the weather is awesome.

2. What's your favorite article of clothing?
Pajamas.

3. Favorite physical feature of the opposite sex?
Height. Is that a feature? I love guys that are taller than me. I'm 5'9".

4. What's the last cd you bought?
Well, the last album I downloaded was from iTunes. "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" by Panic! At the Disco.

5. Where's your favorite place to be?
In my bedroom, in my bed, cuddling up with my comforter, watching a movie or tv show.

6. Where is your least favorite place to be?
In a really boring meeting.

7. What's your favorite place to be massaged?
Shoulders. They ache after sitting at a desk all day.

8. Strong in mind or strong in body?
Mind.

9. What time do you wake up in the morning?
6:30 am. Like clockwork. Even on Saturdays, dangit!

10. What is your favorite kitchen appliance?<br /> Toaster oven. Regular toasters are nice, but if you want the perfect piece of toast, you must use a toaster oven.

11. What makes you really angry?
People that don't actually merge onto the freeway. They just mosey on in there going 35 mph. HELLO! See that thing next to the brake pedal? It's the accelerator--use it!

12. If you could play any instrument at all, what would it be?
The violin. I'm fascinated by the violin. Want a good album to listen to? Try anything by Akiko Suwanai.

13. Which do you prefer...sports car or SUV?
Probably an SUV--more room for shopping bags. Hey, while we're dreaming...

14. Do you believe in an afterlife?
Yep.

15. Favorite children's book?
The Next Place That I Go. I discovered this book six years ago and have loved it ever since. It's specifically for children who have lost a loved one. I love the message, the comfort it gives, and the illustrations. It's very inspiring.

16. What is your favorite season?
Spring. My birthday is in the spring. :)

17. What is your least favorite household chore?
Loading the dishwasher.

18. If you could have one super power, what would it be?
I would love to fly--I'd get to do anywhere in the world!

19. If you have a tattoo, what is it?
No tattoos, but I do have wicked looking scars on my thighs from my cat jumping from my lap and scratching me when I was little.

20. Can you juggle?
Nope.

21. The one person from your past you wish you could go back and talk to?
My grandfather. He passed away a few years ago, but I never got to ask him about WWII. He only talked about it when he told us about marrying my grandmother while home on leave for 2 days.

22. What's your favorite day?
Sunday, because I don't have to do anything! Ahhh...

23. What's in the trunk of your car?
A box of pots and pans and other miscellaneous kitchen stuff. I need to drop it off at my storage unit.

24. Which do you prefer, sushi or hamburger?
I've never tried sushi, so I'll go with a hamburger. :)

Is this not the most beautiful picture?

post04.jpg

I love Jim and Pam... I don't care if they weren't at the Emmy's as their characters--they will always be Jim and Pam to me. :)

Silly, but Seriously

sillybutseriously.jpg

Hi all! I finally unpacked enough of my scrap supplies to create a layout tonight. I also did my first 8-1/2x11 pages tonight! It was pretty fun. These are based on the Creating Keepsakes Becky's Sketches for February 2007. Yes, 2007. I just saw it posted on their site.

I'm not sure if I like the layout. It's not really my style. I like things to be a bit more simple. Hm... maybe it will grow on me. We'll see, I guess. Maybe I'll like it more in the morning. I have been staring at it for two hours tonight.

Keep on Moving

Well, the move is nearly all done. I have my pantry and the refrigerator to go through, but once that's done tomorrow night, I'll be all done with the moving. Thank heavens! Trisha invited members from our church over to help clean before we hand over the keys to the new renters. I was floored when about 30 people showed up! I still had quite a few boxes and odds and ends to move tonight, but it only took us about 5 minutes to move them all. And then when I came back after taking some things to my storage unit, the entire house was cleaned.

I'm so grateful to everyone, but at the same time it's hard to let other people do the job I'm supposed to be doing, you know? It's hard for me to be the one receiving of service.

All day Saturday and Sunday I moved things by myself. My mom couldn't help because after moving furniture on Saturday, her knees were really hurting her. So I did seventy percent of all the moving myself.

Okay, where did I gather so much stuff?! Or rather, WHY did I gather so much stuff?

Every time I think of buying something, I'll have to remind myself of carrying it down the stairs, across the street, and then back up the stairs. If I can justify carting it around everywhere, then maybe I can buy it.

That should help out the credit card situation. ;) Especially when one of the reasons I'm moving home is to get out of debt.

-------------

Okay, how great was it that The Office one the Emmy for best comedy last night!? I was loving it! Okay, John Krasinski is so adorably cute! I love him! It was great to see the entire cast, but I was thinking, “Where's Jim? Where's Pam?”

I can't wait for the new season to start! AHH!

I must leave you all with the lovely face of John Krasinski. He's the second one in from the right. I think I'm in geeky dweeby love...

A Mile in Another Woman's Shoes

The family that is renting the apartment after we move out did a walk through last Wednesday. I was downstairs at my scrap table, trying to be invisible, while the landlord gave the grand tour. I couldn't help overhearing the potential renter's youngest daughter as they opened my closet:

“Wow, she has a lot of shoes!”

And her mother: “Yes, a lot of women have lots of shoes.”

I had to laugh. Did they notice the shoes were all black and brown? I wouldn't say my sensible shoe collection is threatening to take over Carrie Bradshaw's “the most shoes you've ever seen in one closet” title, but I do have one pair of Steve Madden yellow shoes. I love these shoes, but might need to part with them. They run a bit small and my feet scream when I wear them.

Nevermind, they're staying. They're too cute to be on someone else's feet. If I can't wear them, at last they'll save my shoe collection from utter boredom.

(Please excuse the awful photo. It's extremely difficult to get good lighting in a closet).
